For a minute i thought i was dreaming. At 5:35pm before The People Versus, HTV Wales showed the 'fairground' film (in widescreen) before the heart ident.
This is something i haven't seen since before Christmas last year. Are any other regions doing this or was it just a one off?
We have it quite often down ere in da south, Meridian.

I think HTV should use them more often or at least until its alleged new look in the autumn. It add's a bit of variety to the channel as opposed to the boring daytime, lines idents.
Also after looking at the itv showreel on the lambie-nairn (spelling) website, does anyone know if the CCTV / football pitch intro film was used in any of the regions?

ITV Hearts at TV Home has the answer, although you currently cannot download the clips and there's a couple of broken images!
YTV used all the hearts variations until January, although I've been told Meridian have never used a couple of them - probably the case for several regions.
Well as the HTV idents are being revamped soon, and no this does not mean Carlton etc will be having new ones, then I would expect to see more of this over the coming months.
Granada have used all of the films clips, I know because i've got them all, I've also got all of the Border ones and most of the Meridian ones too!
The CCTV ident has been used by Granada, although it isn't very common.
Currently all GMG stations are using the static 'fade in' hearts, no animations at all.

Actually, lines has appeared often lately, and don't forget that YTV and TTTV have local idents! Why doesn't Granada?

They were shortlived. That's why only a few were used. Also they only broadcast 2 and a half days a week.

Yes but even in that short time most were lines I ever recall seeing them once or twice the torches & swirly sky I only saw 4 times each (although these are rough guesses I can't remeber plus I don't count them).
As mentioned by Johnny and can be confirmed by myself, HTV are getting new idents
this Monday!

Carlton have rejigged their current Idents to create a unified look but
retaining the HTV identity.
The openings are Carlton with the heart symbol animating into the HTV 'V'
There are other changes too, Stills are dead all 'next' holders are animated
& verbally HTV is 'part of the ITV network'.
Fantastic! If anyone can capture it at 0925 on Monday and create a new thread (best bet to let everyone know and to stop chance of repeat postings) that would be great.
