I remember there being a debate a while back on whether there were any videos floating about of when BBC World announced Diana's death - this proggy contained a clip of Nik Gowing doing just that - thought it might be interesting for those folk who'd been looking for that kinda thing a while back if anyone managed to tape it...

I've got most of the first 3 hours of switching between ITN and BBC WORLD on that fateful night, both before and after the horrific extent of the news was confirmed.

I think I actually have ITV going into an ITN News Report for the first time too.  I just happened to be awake watching the ITV Chart Show and was recording that, and it was during that programme that the screen faded to black and the announcement was made. I also have a good few hours from the rest of the day.

I did have the funeral (ITV's coverage) at one time but I think my landlady wiped over it, because I can't find it on the tape labelled as such Confused

I've got virtually all morning from Channel 4 on one tape, my mum usually records The Waltons and/or Little House on the Prarie. Anyway she had set it wrong and recorded all morning from about 6am.

It may not have exactly what you are after (and you may know of it too!), but try http://www.meldrum.co.uk/mhp/continuity/diana.html

Yeah, been there - very interesting - just thought I'd put in an appeal in case anyone caught that on video.

I had lots of Sky News and some CNN, NBC (I think it was still the appalingly named NBC Superchannel back then) BBC, ITN and 5 News from that day, but it all got wiped too, much to my annoyance...

Got the majority of the night on VHS somewhere - including the first news report on BBC1 from Martyn Lewis and the film being ditched and joining BBC World.
Got some ITN/GMTV/C4 as well.
I remember switching between the channels and listening to 5 Live etc on the radio during the night ... then waking up my friends to tell them!
