Hi James
Sorry to be late in replying - I lived on the top floor of a block on Beverley Road right by the River Hull on the northern edge of the city (smack bang between Orchard Park and Bransholme). I never got Meridian, perhaps if we'd had an outdoor aerial we could have! Tyne Tees/BBC NE was watchable, but the Granada/BBC NW depended on high pressure as well.

Yeah living on the Northern Edge of Hull you`d be able to pick TT up, my friend gets it in the next village from me, but im more likely to get Meridian or HTV
I wonder how posible it is to gain Border & Tyne Tees in the Central belt of Scotland with their rooftop ariel.
Can anybody gain these regions in the scottish reception area?
There are peple I know in Girvan that can get a good Ulster, and I think by pointing your outdoor aerial south and boosting the signal, you can just about get Border. I think Tyne Tees is impossible. So far i haven't managed to pick up any
Depends on which part of Ayr you live in, I used to have my signal from Ulster TV blocked by the Carrick hills, while the Southern uplands blocked my signal from Border Tv from Cumbria.
The further you live from the base of the Carrick hills the better the reception you will get. With a high gain Group A Aerial mounted high up and clear of obstructions pointing directly at the Darvel or Caldbeck or Divis transmitter then you should get all 3 ITV regions.
Friends of mine when i was younder in Whitlets or Prestwick near Ayr could get great reception on Ulster and fairly good reception on Border.
This may help as well

I get 16 regions, which is nice.
Sadly, they all come through a dish and there's no challenge.
I can get BBC One and Two Scotland/North East and Cumbria, ITV Border (both Scot and Eng), and Channel 4. No Channel 5 here yet.
I guess if I played about on the roof I could probably get BBC1 Northern Ireland and UTV but I've never bothered.
Going back to an earlier post re: Scottish/Grampian... are there
any
differences at all in their schedules now? I know that they both used to show both news programmes (North Tonight/Scotland Today) in the middle of the night. Do they still do that?
I live in a QUADRUPLE OVERLAP AREA,but since I only have an indoor aerial I can't get squat!
I also have no plans of getting Sky Digital!!!
Oh,what is there to do...

Get cable then. If you live in an overlap hey usually at leaat give you one of the overlap regions in addition to the main region, We get CARLTON Central (east) on 103 and YTV (East) on 751. Then again, I bet you dont live in a cabled area either

I can now get all 16 regions! But using the cheats method of Sky Digital... I'm happy except that Anglia is Anglia West and they're dire compared to Anglia East. What are the odds of a change of heart by the powers that be?
