Does anyone remember 'How Do They Do That?' which used to be on BBC 1 about 6 years ago? It was presented by Desnam Lynam at first before being taken over by Eammon Holmes.
'How Do They Do That?' was all about how they make things, from BBC idents to filming in the jungle.
The BBC needs to bring this programme back, if not, with another name. Anyone else agree?
I seem to remember it being the butt of a lot of jokes because most of the things were stuff you could work out how they did it for yourself. And there were rather a lot of BBC plugs disguised as 'behind the scenes' reports that fooled nobody.
Whatever happened to Jenny Hull after that anyway?
as far as i recall there was some complains about the inadvertant 'product placement' as a lot of the stories were about specific tv commercials (like goodyear tyres, unifilla adhesive etc). As much as the beeb edited the pieces down it was always abundantly clear who the ad was for.
by the end of its run, the programme was answering questions
no body
was asking! as long as they had two film crews at a commercial shoot then they'd show it on the programme.
One of the classic moments on How Do They Do That was when they went behind the scenes of the making of the '2' ident and they showed us how a couple of them are down. Apparently there was a fan club for these people who loved that thing but I still haven't been able to find that society.

And they also did a report behind the scenes of BBC News, didn't they? Showing the robotic cameras and that everything wasn't real.

The one where they fell of TV centre look so fake - but the one where the studio flooded was very well done -they made a mock up - and i like it when the audience floated away. Eamon looked really scared - and he really was, because he can't swim and doesn't like water!! (a man after my own heart )
