God, just imagine if moments after this she ate the head of a live baby and then raped a helpless old woman. An old woman with a disease. Galaxy would have a lot to answer for.

I think that's quite inapproriate and immature. Please modify your tone.

I don't like your tone. Please modify your prudish moaning.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there are any proper rules against swaring on the radio and saying such comments. I think it's only prohibited if it's of a sexual nature or non-stop inappropraite language and comments. Galaxy 105 is not a family orientated station anyways, so I doubt there will be any complaints, whereas if Real Radio did the same thing, it would probably be complaints glore.

I actually heard this feature at the time, and yes it was pretty shocking, but highly compelling radio.

Now before everyone starts getting moralistic here, let's clear up a couple of things. First, the call was without a shadow of doubt, not live. No radio station would take the risk of not pre-rec'ing a call like that.

Second, in order to broadcast it, legally they would have required her permission. So there's no question of her finding out later in the day that she'd been humiliated on the radio without her knowledge.

I would guess in this case in order to persuade her to allow it to be broadcast, she may have been given a financial incentive.

Jeremy Dixon of FM104's Phoneshow in Dublin regularly calls female callers "Ya Dirty Jezebel". No one bats an eyelid. It's not that different

Yeah but that the old Catholic view that all sexually liberated women are 'Jezebel's'. Guess he knows his audience.

I contacted Galaxy about this and here is their answer. It does make you wonder why the gorl agreed to the broadcast.

Hi there Stuart

Thanks very much for your enquiry regarding the feature "Danny Dumps", broadcast on December 22nd last year.

I'd like to assure you that all of our production and presentation teams are very familiar with the Ofcom Code, and as such always obtain the consent of any individual broadcast on the station.

The phonecall featured in "Danny Dumps" was a pre-recorded item, that was not played out until express permission to broadcast was given by all parties involved.

Thank you again for getting in touch, I hope this has eased any anxiety the piece may have caused you.

Kind Regards

Funny, they were talking about the call this morning after they got wind that it was played on an Australian station, and Hirsty said that the call had gone out live.
