Below is the channel lineup in a hotel on the Slovenian coast (Portorož, near Italy and Croatia) where I stayed a few months ago; I originally wrote this for another forum.

How can they recive NBC? Don't they only broadcast to the US?

Funny that, how satellites keep the world communicating.

Which regions?

TVE 1 and Rai 3 has the regional variants. Which variant do you get? And which ad region of C4 and affiliate of NBC do you get?


Arte is a bilingual channel broadcast in French and German audio feeds. France 24 is a group of 3 separate channels broadcast in English, French and Arabic. Which version do you get?


Sky Movies has a number of channels, and there are Sky Sports 1-4. Which one do you get?

In the 3 or 4 Premier Inns I've stayed in fairly recently, there just seems to be a normal aerial feed into the back of a built-in Freeview flat screen TV. So obviously any tuners are in the rooms themselves.

Am surprised that the curious availability of BBC World in some UK hotels hasn't come up in this thread.

As far back as 9/11/2001 I watched it in a Premier Inn in Earl's Court.

CNN+ closed down last week. What is showing instead on that channel?


NBC must be from the feed on 15W satellite, interesting they are broadcasting Canal+ France and Spain as "free" channels when Canal+ spain is a subscription channel 24/7 in Spain and in France is a pay channel most of the time.

Spanish channels were probably taken off TDT and would be the Andalucia region variations.

The 15w NBC feeds are never constant they're either on, off or showing random stuff. Not very appropriate for an hotel.

Perhaps its from a webfeed then, or is actually MSNBC which is on more consistantly on that satellite. Or even CNBC. OP Please let us know!

Just been a power cut in hotel. NBC channel now showing a PC desktop, so guessing it's a web feed.
