This looks like the sleazy guilty pleasure drama the BBC have been looking for for years Whose going to watch it from this forum?

And at the same time an intelligent science fact (not fiction) series on ITV1 with Patrick Stewart.

Have they swapped programmes or something ?

I'd have expected better from BBC1. And Emma Pierson.

Yes it's very surreal to see the dramas we expect from ITV and BBC on the opposite channels.

What do you mean? Why shouldn't the BBC cater for the audience towards which this show is aimed? Just because you don't like it...

One of the purposes of the BBC is to entertain, and believe it or not, this programme is intended to do just that.

I think you will find that the general consensus is that ITV have dumbed down whereas the BBC (alledgelly) hasn't!

Here it does seem a reversal of typical roles each station play.

Have the BBC aired this programme on BBC Three first to see how well it does or do they think it is already suitable for BBC One viewers?

and what happened. The ITV1 intelligent science fact series ended up 3rd in the ratings.

This means ITV won't be making this sort of series again in a hurry as the viewing public obviously don't want it. Great

Not necessarily, it didn't trail that badly. Even ITV realise the need to diversify and that there is a market (especially amongst advertisers) for this kind of programme which appeals to an upmarket and usually male audience which isn't your average ITV viewer. They don't have to win every slot with lowest common denominator TV.
