For a Channel 4 name, Scarlett Moffatt isn't alternative or edgy enough. Rachel Riley is more edgy than her.

I wouldn't say either are, but I wouldn't agree with that statement either.

To be fair Suzie Dent would be edgier.

She's from Gogglebox. She's done bits on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway which I thought she was reasonably good at. She's not what you'd call edgy, though.

Yeah as I say the first episode of something like that needs a big name to launch it. If it has an element of improv someone comedic or an actor

If the host has improv skills it would be a waste of time trying to catch them off guard because they'd be able to handle it. They needed someone who'd revel in something going wrong and not knowing what to do next. A Geordie girl who just laughs and says "oh my god" doesn't make for captivating viewing.

That's not very fair on Scarlet. She's very quick witted and likeable hence her success on that show.

The post just comes across as typical anti-reality TV star snobbery.

She has her place. I won't deny she can be entertaining especially compared to some reality TV people, but I just feel people should be given work based on their talent, not their popularity.

I think channel 4 should push on with this series, but it does seem the format is a bit flat.

In that case Hopkins would have been a better host. But the majority of them aren't exactly the best hosts, although Moffat has her place.

It would have made more sense to start with Jack Whitehall.

But if you want to bring back the Friday Night Project just bring it back.

The BBC article claims it was only commissioned for a two episode run - what!?

The revival of Whose Line has been a success in America and they have brought it back on the stage with the original cast in the UK and they could do it with a mix of regulars and up and coming comedians like they do on Mock the Week. They are struggling at present for something for Alan Carr so why not bring back the show that made him famous with other up and coming comedians and some big name guest hosts.

Everyone says they should bring back Whose Line Is It Anyway, but they already did, except they called it Fast and Loose - http://www.ukgameshows.com/ukgs/Fast_and_Loose

Rather oddly in all the publicity for it they made great play over the fact it was "from the producers of Mock the Week" and didn't make a single reference to the fact it was also from the producers of Whose Line, despite the fact it was the exact same format, maybe there was some kind of legal issue over the name. But it was absolutely identical. It was also bloody awful, about as spontaneous as Big Ben.

As for Host The Week, the whole point of putting it on a Thursday, as mentioned in Broadcast last week, was as part of a drive to run entertainment throughout the week and not stick every new format on a Friday. Clearly it didn't work here, but you know.

It actually says it was commissioned for 3 but that they had only scheduled 2.
