AFAIK it's staying in the two current areas for now.
Moving to a new flat with no cable and iffy whether Sky's allowed, so getting Homechoice for now, installation on Friday... will miss my Sky+ though, and there's no Sky One on Homchoice so I'm getting someone to tape 24 every week!
Don't get Home Choice! At least not for the moment. Customer Service is awful, the packages are not particularly good value and the options are limited.
I had Homechoice in my last flat, and did rather like it - it's not bad value for broadband and digital TV, and the video on demand is a rather nice touch.
But the user interface is appauling (I had a rather panicked call from a flatmate one evening who couldn't work out how to watch EastEnders), and the basic channel package is a bit lacking compared to Freeview.
Oh, and there's a 12 month minimum term contract. I moved to one of the few exchanges in North London which isn't Homechoice-ready, and they want me to pay off the rest of the year's payments to cancel.
They claim they're going to be rolling out nationally this year, but I wouldn't bank on it.
I am a Homechoice customer and I wish I was not. On the face of it Homechoice looks very good. They have a flashy web site and make lots of promises but, once they have your money - they have you by the short and curls.
The main problem is customer service. It is impossible to get it. They make promises they do not keep. For instance, they sent an email asking customers to recommend our friends, for every one that joins I was promised one free month, for each. Now they are saying the email was worded incorrectly and it meant if I got anyone to join I would get 1 month free not one month free for each person. This is AFTER I got 6 people to join - ALL of whom have had problems with it.
The internet connection is slow and keeps dropping out, the TV package is unreliable and the box needs rebooting about 5 times a month. To do this you have t o turn the whole thing off, the wireless router and box and TV and wait 10 minutes before you can reconnect. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not and you have to do the whole thing over.
I would not recommend homechoise and can give you a list of 125 other customers who would not recommend it either. When something seems too good to be true - it usually is.

I'd like to see this list of 125 customers please.

Well you can count me as one. The customer service is dire. And the box is a tad unrelable. it tends to switch off if no buttons are pressed for 12 hours. It also doesn't work very well with my Tivo.
Hmm, well after my first weekend of Homechoice I've been very impressed with the broadband speeds compared to BT (supposedly at the same speed - not sure why!) but on the TV side, not too sure. The VOD is impressive, there's a few good shows on there (not loads, though) and the music video feature is good. The replay feature isn't great though - it seems to be all soaps and not much else, plus no Channel Four shows on it.
It'll be OK for now, but we'll probably leave after the year's contract. I really do miss my Sky+!
As for national rollout, I hear the money they need for that should come as part of the takeover by whoever buys them - could be BT, more likely Sky.

Then threaten to sue them.
Anyway, and more importantly, why does your user name appear to be "Fuzzy Beetle", but when I quote you it appears as "Sticky"?
