The 1980's ITV sitcom "Home To Roost" which starred Reece Dinsdale and the late John Thaw is currently being
shown on ITV3. The series was made by Yorkshire Television, and the episode that ended about 20 minutes
ago had the copyright message "(c) Yorkshire Television Ltd 1986". Yet ITV have seen fit to add an
endcap that claimed the program was "A Granda Yorkshire Production".

Now, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but Yorkshire TV wasn't owned by Granada back in 1986. In which
case, surely using the "A Granda Yorkshire Production" endcap on this program is somewhat inaccurate.

There's another episode on right now, which I'm sure is most likely to have the same endcap on it . . .

EDIT - Hmm, the second episode kept the original Yorkshire TV endcap . . .

They're very random about editing endcaps on the archive programming they show. You have to bear in mind though that Granada Yorkshire doesnt mean Granada own Yorkshire anyway, Granada Yorkshire is the new name for Yorkshire Television productions.

The edits seem a little pointless to me though, unless they've made other edits to the programmes as well?

Dont Granada now own all the programs in the archive so that could be why they are putting the new Granada endcaps on them.

First ep of Beiderbecke on ITV3 also had the original endcap, by the time the next episode came, the current 2005 generic endcap was being used

Isn't that in keeping with a lot of DVD releases? ep1 will have a Thames reflection, the rest will be Freemantle?

Well if there's anything old that is shown on ITV1, then chances are that Granada will alter it to 'A Granada (Name) Production', but when it comes to programmes on ITV3 (and other channels) then they don't tend to bother.

Carlton used to stick a 'Distributed by Carlton International' endcap on some old Central programmes, some of which are still there.

Jesus of Nazareth was shown on ITV3 over Easter, that being made by ATV/ITC, but Granada stuck on an animated (with music) Granada International endcap.

Sorry to go off-topic, but how many variants of the new Granada endcaps are there?

I've seen 'Granada', 'Granada London', 'Granada Manchester', and 'Granada Yorkshire'.

Is there a 'Granada Bristol' one about? How many 'regions' or production houses does the 'Granada Production' one cover?

ISTR that there's a Granada Anglia one about, usually seen at the end of Trisha, but anything that doesn't fit into the main Production bases just comes as a Granada Production

yesterday's "made for the masses", some sort of quasi-regional programme i presume, was badged with an "itv" (not itv central) endcap.

very odd.

When's Granada London used?

I'm sure Paul O'Grady(I think) just says 'A Granada Production', but doesn't that that come from London anyway?

(It's a shame we'll never see a 'Granada Birmingham' endcap, seeing Central only appear to make local progs now, unless I'm wrong !)
