Home 2004 plot lines are looking very bad already I dont think this programme can last another few years.

Care to explain what you mean by that?

Sure, I could do without the Danni/Kane plotline at the moment, but it's not doing too badly.

I think Murf is referring to the episodes now airing on RTE, a few months ahead of Five. I agree that the show is certainly changing direction with plots becoming more outrageous ( a character being visited by her dead mother and acting out her mother's evil instructions, people finding out they were inadvertently swapped at birth, etc.). It all depends if the viewers accept these more far-fetched storylines as to how long the show can survive. I think it's likely to go on for a long time yet, changing direction a few more times in the process.

Ah yes.

Not your typical Summer Bay goings on. I could see me getting fed up with that if it's too extreme.

Mind you, H&A has made a few fairly spectacular changes of cast/direction over the years and survived, so let's wait and see.

I thought the show was getting better but from what I've heard... Dani going to jail TWICE? The Sutherlands torture is just unbelievable. All of this stuff could happen in real life, but Angie telling Tasha to do evil things? That breaks the laws of science, things like that aren't proven. Seems to be becoming a USA soap opera like Bold & Beautiful.

Yes H&A has had some storylines bordering on bizarre lately, but just remember it's made primarily for an Australian audience, who must be liking the storylines seeing H&A usually comes first in it's 7pm timeslot

Hi 9 - good to see you posting again!

Are some Aussie states still behind in H&A? I remember that Tasmania and some local stations (GWN, etc) were quite a few months behind the rest of Oz in the 90s, and they used to show it earlier in the day. Have they caught up now do you know?

Howdy Cool As far as I know all the states see the same episodes. I could be wrong but I doubt we'd be outta sync with each other. It's only the american soaps now where a few states are behind others, mainly because of cricket in the summer.

But H&A has always had an element of the bizarre - for example, think back to Bobbie's 'ghost' terrorising Ailsa from the fridge door, 'Ailsa' spending months with Alf because of his tumour.

To be honest, although it's reasonably down-to-earth, I quite liek the mix of light-hearted with occasional surreal.

It's when they throw in too much misery (which they did at a few points during the whole Angie Russell sequence) that I find it less enjoyable.

I think Bobby's ghost in the fridge was good, because Aisla was hulucinating and people have weird visions when they hulucinate.

I think they've lost a lot of the comedy they once had and giving The Sutherland a break once in a while wouldn't heart. They've literally been through about 5 natural diasters in the last 3 years.

Yes I am on about RTE, the show just got boring this last week with every one recovered from the mine shaft collapse and then the Cain/ Danni story line still going on ( I think they must be employing eastenders script writers). Though Broadie has just landed back with a bomb shell for a few of them and the Suthurlands been taking over by Beths family which means theres about 12 people living in the house.
The Show seems to be going back to its roots with the caravan park house at the core but i think there is now to many younger characters under 18, which will just lead to repeats of past story lines.

When I was in Australia last year it depends on whether its C7 or Prime as i think prime have a week delay. I also know that Neighbours is 2 weeks behind in the Northern Territory.

The second version of Home and Away start credits appeared on RTE this week with 3 1 departure and 3 new faces. Also the font size was increased for opening credits making them more readable.

Home and Away will be taking a break in Oz for the Olympics, but there are some great cliffhangers in the final show.

Major Spoilers (highlight to reveal):

Arrow A character called Sarah shoots several of the Bay's residents (in an attempt to avenge the murder of a loved one). On the day of his wedding to Hayley, Noah is shot dead! Another regular is also rumoured to be killed off in the subsequent episodes.
