ITV owns 12% in Seven Network but they wouldn't be able to use this to buy back H&A at all. The only way they could get it would be to bid for it when Five's contract was up for renewal or came to an end.

The 12% used to be held by Granada and in 1999/2000 Seven and Granada had a joint production company (Red Heart) that was producing Home & Away. Something obviously wasn't working and Red Heart folded and H&A production went back to being an in-house Seven production.

I hear the recent Dancing with the Stars series (won by Bec Cartwright from H&A, by the way) was in fact produced by Granada. What arm of Granada is this?

I think, but i'm not too sure, that Granada has a production/sales arm in Australia that sells ITV programming and formats and also produces a few shows as well. Like I said not too sure though.

Hmm - wasn't DWTS an in-house Seven show?

Jason Smith (Robbie) is set to be in the next series apparently, the last one was won by Rebecca Cartwright (Hayley).

I'm sure Granada produced it in association with Seven.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but on BBC 2's Tennis Coverage, I'm sure I saw the Girl who plays Hayley In H&A in the crowd several times

Yeah, Bec Cartwright. She's currently dating Lleyton Hewitt, and Channel Seven apparently even made some last-minute changes to H&A storylines to allow her to attend his matches!

EDIT: He has proposed to her! They've only been dating a couple of months too. Shocked

Hewitt to marry Bec Cartwright
07:38 AEDT Mon Jan 31 2005

Lleyton Hewitt proposed to soap star girlfriend Bec Cartwright after losing the Australian Open on Sunday night in a spirited game against Russian Marat Safin.

The couple got engaged soon after the match ended at Melbourne Park, the Seven network reported.

"The big news down here is the engagement of Lleyton Hewitt and Bec Cartwright just after the match last night," the channel said.

Hewitt apparently got down on bended knee in a quiet corner before heading into a private party celebrating the end of the competition.

The station reported that Cartwright, an actor on the Aussie soap Home and Away, had had no advance warning, but Hewitt was prepared with a "big diamond".

The 23-year-old tennis player had apparently hoped to propose after winning the match, but instead lost against the fourth-seeded Russian 1-6 6-3 6-4 6-4.

He and Cartwright had their first public outing as a couple in early December and she has sat courtside throughout his Australian Open matches.

The announcement comes after Hewitt separated from his former fiance, Belgian tennis star Kim Clijsters, late last year following a four-year romance.

I assume BBC2 were taking a feed from Seven then... they're plastering her everywhere at the moment!

Including (from what I saw on (I think) Ten News) on a screen that Seven has used to overlay promo's on (I think they overlay it onto the screen).
