And Five seem to be following in their footsteps.

Tonight's cuts are totally rediculous - the one that's really hacked me off is the one where a drunk and depressed Jade is trying to get Seb to sh*g her on the beach. I wouldn't mind but the last time we had a couple dealing with sex - which was Jade and Seb, albeit with a sober Jade in Alf's flat - it wasn't cut. OK so they went the "right" way about it (they waited quite a while - by teens standards! - AFAIK) but still.

I won't start on the other five cuts.

The funny thing is that the car crash was left intact.

Although I did like the way the disco music was beat-matched to the recap music!

I'd also like to thank Si-Co and Chris J, both members here and at Back To The Bay for organising uploads of the uncut versions of these episodes... it's nice to know that you guys aren't trying to be the new Mary Whitehouse!

And after all that unessecary dressing-down...

We're really being treated at the moment with the returns of Shelley and Duncan too!

Not seen what they are cutting, so it's difficult to comment, but Hollyoaks which airs 30 mins later has featured scenes of drug taking quite heavily in recent months - and IIRC more extreme scenes in the past.

And after all, it's only a few months ago that Corrie features Emily and Norris getting high!

So, Fisher is back but how, when and why did he leave? Where is he living at the moment?

Also, why won't they bring Pippa back? Maybe they could have a scenario along the following lines:

Dani gets kidnapped by the freako currently stalking her and he gets Rhys to pay a ransom to free Dani. Dani subsequently leaves town and the remaining Sutherlands/Hunters sell the Caravan Park because: a) they can't afford to run it and b) they decide to leave Summer Bay to make a fresh start after this recent ordeal. Pippa then returns to the Bay and buys the Caravan Park.

He left to go and live with June (he realised love was worth the risk) in Queensland (home of all retired soap opera cast) - in the Whitsunday Islands, I believe.



Well, apart from anything else, the show is something like 8/9 months ahead of us, and more than one cast member in the above scenario is no longer in the soap in Australia.
Anyway, don't you know? Beth is the new Pippa

Bring back the REAL Pippa (played by Debra Lawrence), NOW!

Well Debra was unavailable to return for baby Pippa's Christening (yes - Sally and Flynn call the baby Pippa, a fantastic nod to continuity there!)) in a guest role although she did return in 2000 and 2003 for Sally's two weddings.

Beth is the Pippa of the 00s. Pippa was brilliant but she wouldn't work in a permanent role on the show nowadays.

Fisher left in 2003 but like Morag is back on UK screens at the moment.

I DON'T think so, matey. Beth is a dull character played by a very wooden actress. She just DOESN'T hold a candle to supermum Pippa Ross.

It's high time to get rid of the awful Sutherlands/Hunters and bring back the legendary Ms Ross.

The good news is that the Sutherlands are set to go totally by March 2005 (Late Autumn 2005 in the UK) - we see one depart here next week.



The bad news is they're being replaced with the Hunters.

The other bad news is I disagree - Beth's lovely (better than Shelley I think although I have enjoyed Paula Forrest's guest appearances) and Clarissa House is a fantastic actress!

Yep. It'll now be time to find another family to throw all the bad luck at!

I think they've developed her quite well from farmer's wife, to mother and homemaker to a stronger character (e.g. becoming chair of the PNC or whatever it's called).

Paula Forrest's reappearances as Shelley have been good, but a little odd. She initially seemed very much glammed up from her old Summer Bay days (presumably to distinguish her from Beth), but she's been much more down-to-earth and like her old self, this time round. Is it me or are they already sowing the seeds of Rhys' departure in the way he has been with Shelley?

And it is rather nice to have a group of former regulars back - Don, Shelley, Duncan, Morag. H&A is getting really good at that sort of continuity. Nice touch with Don meeting Hyde (old principal meeting new).
