I realise these comments are a bit late but I do find the new openers excessively cheesy. For a start the beach looks like it's been created in a CGI suite; not sure why but it does. I assume the cast were all shot on a bluescreen. Also some of the things they're doing is ultra cheesy; that tug of war with Rhys in the foreground has me cringing every time!
Also the music; last time they re-jigged it we lost a bar between the verse and the chorus; now we seem to have lost half of the first verse! It wont be long before it "does a Neighbours"; where they edit the theme down so much the lyrics just stop making sense.
Isn't there the Kane & Kirsty heart thing too? I understand there's also a Jade & Seb frame in there somewhere.

Not quite mate - we're in the middle of the infamous titles that last for one week.
This week, the text was enlargened. We saw Kit removed leaving Kirsty, Jade and Tasha. Next week the three girls are paired up with their boyfriends (Kane, Seb and Robbie respectively.)
Henry and Matilda have been added to the tug of war frame. Rhys is the one left standing - previously Beth and Max kept it with Rhys falling over.
Next week Alex is removed and we see Noah spinning Hayley around. The next set of credits will remain until the Monday after the Olympic Cliffhanger (or a week after, I'm not sure which ) when
Noah
is killed.
Kim Hyde is added next week, in a frame with Robbie. At the forefront of this frame, Tasha is "pulling" Robbie (hadn't she already "pulled" him?! Badum-tish!)
Gossip.... (Contains spoilers for UK & Ireland. Like, duh!)
- The Guv returns. She is dying and wants her memoris published with Dani! Being a journalism student, this would be a great start to her career... but Scott has other ideas!
- There's a "benefit concert" in Noah's memory. Rumour has it Barry Hyde does some rapping... Hmm!
- Angie Russel's idential cousin, Josie has turned up. And she wants custody of Tasha! Josie, like Angie, is played by Laurie Foell! But fear not, Irene is determined to fight for Tasha, with a little help from an old favourite... yes, the original Bitch of the Bay that is Morag Bellingham is back one more time! Let's just remember Tasha pushed Morag into a swimming pool when she was last around...
Kit's left for uni - she comes back between now and the Olympic Cliffhanger - then is back to sing in the benefit concert for the person who dies in said cliffhanger.

I think we are about six weeks in to the 2004 episodes, so around 7/8 months behind. I guess the Olympic cliff hanger won't be shown here for another 6-7 months then.
