Home & Away is one of the few soaps that uses music effectively, especially pop music as opposed to the instrumentals.
I really enjoyed the opening and closing sequences - they worked perfectly with little or no speech, I thought the scene where Jade lost it with her mother was very poweful.
Puts a lot of British soaps to shame. Needless to say, my 16-year old sister is distraught tonight after I told her about the rumours that Noah is going to die!
I should point out that "Back to the Bay" has a RealVideo of the 4-minute opening sequence from tonight.

Put ur sister's mind at rest and tell her Noah doesn't die. He's very much alive!

Rumours are going around that the proposed spin-off to 'Home and Away' - working title 'Campus' - will now be produced as a stand-alone show, and not feature former H&A characters.
Apparently Channel 4 (not five) are partly funding the show, so that could be the reason they have chosen to remove the link to H&A. If C4 are to screen the show, I hope they don't tuck it away in the late-night schedules as they did with 'Secret Life of Us'.
It's still set to air early next year in Oz, in a twice-weekly hour-long format, and while there may be familiar faces amongst the cast (ie. H&A stars), they will be playing new roles.
Bit of a disappointment, if the rumours are true.
BTW, does anyone know if the H&A music-bed (used on the 'recap' sequences before the opening titles) is available to download anywhere?

Apparently Noah doesn't die, he's not leaving. Apparently Dani, Max and Rhys leave.
