Not quite sure who paid for this one but...

'...The series makes its debut on Channel 5 on June 16 and the broadcaster has flown the entire cast from Australia to promote the series.'

Nice of them to do that, and I think it will help ratings.
To keep a tenuous link with tv presentation, I'll bet any money C5 have got them to shoot some new idents based around the characters.

Interestingly, 'The producers of ITV chat-shows have been given strict instructions not to feature cast members of Home and Away in their programmes.'

I assume that includes SMTV, and with L&K unlikely to feature them, will they only appear on Open House with Gloria?!

Do you think anyone will actually be bothered about Home and Away now that it's been off our screens for a year, I don't know about you but I'm just about coping to live without it. Also why would we need H&A back now that we have our own homegrown soap packed full of beautiful bronzed people, with exciting storylines that has the nation gripped......... in case you didn't recognise it, I am of course referring to Crossroads.

im sure i read in a paper that crossroads is being dropped at the end of the series as it has failed to take off.

Channel 5 have failed to realise one important thing. Except for the major fans, people only watched H+A because it was on. I don't think people are going to make a point of switching over to 5 at a certain time just to watch it. Anybody agree?

Not sure about that, and how do you mean at the end of the series ? Is Crossroads on a limited run, I mean soaps don't tend to be made in series, it's just ongoing.

Well soaps like Casualty and Holby City are series-based with a cliff-hanger bridging the two series.

I don't know how Crossroads has been produced though - whether it's a Corrie/EastEnders type ongoing soap or a series-based one

I don't know either. I presume its continous as it says 'Your clothes favoutite soap, sponsored by DAZ or SURF or something!'.
Although, who is Jill's killer. God I wish I did it! You can find out here though:

Are Casualty and Holby City soaps? I thought they were drama series? Are they done by the same department as EastEnders? Then again, I suppose Doctors could be classed as a soap.

Well believe it or not there is another ITV daytime soap in the making, I think it's to be called Night & Day, and stars Gareth Hunt and Lesley Joseph. I don't know where ITV are going to squeeze that one into the schedule.
