Well thats the first weekday ever that Five hasnt shown Home and Away in over 5 years (they started screening it in July 2001). They even show an episode on Christmas Day when it falls on a weekday.
With us catching up with Oz I wonder how Five will manage as they will have to take a break sooner or later otherwise they will overtake Oz which isnt allowed I dont think.
Home and Away has been excellent this week, but just how many bad things can happen to one town in a short period!

Should be fine then for another couple of years at least - I don't think they take quite as long of now as they used to anyhow.
A rough estimate saying they take off six weeks this Christmas and next means by 2008 we'd be 4 weeks behind - so should catch up late 2008 sometime.
Personally rather than just dropping episodes on Bank Holidays, the odd week here and there and perhaps on Fridays, I'd rather Five took the break in one block.
I think it goes off air late November, so if we're a month behind it could continue until the cliff hanger around Christmas, and then take a few weeks off and return in February.

Home & Away for the first time ever hasn't been shown on analogue.
Due to Z-List football, the show got moved to Five Life (normally, it gets parked at 3pm.)
This means that most of the UK has missed out on the key episode where Amanda finds out the truth about Belle.
Stick to showing porn movies Five and give H&A back to ITV...
(Shame they couldn't ditch the next 3 weeks worth whilst they're at it - I'll warn you now - the "Lost" p*sstake that is the chopper crash is laughably appalling.)

It goes off air at the end of November and doesnt return until Mid January in Oz. I think the best option for FIVE would be to catch up with Oz completely (or go a week behind if they arent allowed to show episodes on a par with Oz) and then just take the same break as them over Christmas.
As for Home and Away on ITV - well ITV didnt treat the show very well, I think five have treated it a lot better. On ITV it was always off for breaks, never shown on Bank Holidays and they edited it a lot. However ITV havent found anything anywhere near as popular to replace Home and Away with even 6 years later so I could see them trying to get it back!
