I did not know that! Think it will be a shame, but can understand why as there's not much more to be done with the character given that she's already been through so much!
We should be grateful they are showing older episode. I wish someone would repeat old episodes of my favourite soap Corrie. When Plus went off air they were up to 1994, so would have reached about 1997/8 now. Id love to see that era again.
Old Corrie would be perfect for about 3pm on ITV1 in the afternoon - they show Inspector Morse/Poirot/Midsommer Murders etc often enough.
Surely there would be an audience for them on ITV3, especially if they had emmerdale and corrie classic episodes, even if they aired them 6-7 leading into the ITV1 eps from 7.
Im surprised this hasnt been mentioned but Katie Ritchie has quit the show and will leave next year. This means that Alf will now be the only original cast member left.
I can'be believe Sally is leaving!!!! I reckon that Pippa, Fisher and some of the original cast will return for a very special episode when Sally leaves. +

I would think so. Any excuse to bring back former cast members. Fisher was in last nights episode (FIVE Life)
It's one thing Home and Away are very good at - bringing back the ex-cast members when appropriate (weddings, funerals, weekly natural disasters). Pippa also returned last week too.
Originally Lincoln (Geoff) was only brought in as a guest character, however they have since given him a full contract and he finally appeared on the credits in Oz last week.
I have just phoned Five up and asked about the break for Home & Away (Present Episodes) and the Early Years.
The Early Years will return at some stage in January 2008, but a time is still to be set.
As far as the latest episodes are concerned, Five told me, we in the UK aren't allowed to be on a level pegging with Australian episodes. They said we have to be at least six weeks behind Oz.
Back in the days when ITV showed Home & Away, I am sure we were only days behind Australia at one point.
I would prefer to be level with Australia and take the full six-week break, comments welcome on this one.
It would seem a strange clause considering nowadays most US programmes are encouraging UK networks to screen programmes as soon as possible to help combat illegal downloading etc.
I suspect the six week clause is so they don't need to take the six week break over Christmas - but as you say I'd rather see that happen myself.
Don't forget in Australia, they take the 6 week break during the height of their summer - when viewing figures are well below the normal level - damn sunshine!!!! We just do not get the same weather and as such TV bosses know that they will always have an audience for the soaps!
I remember the days when both Crossroads and Emmerdale Farm did not run for the full 52 weeks - they always ended their current runs with cliffhangers.
Crossroads last series end cliff-hanger, I remember quite vividly, was the motel fire - did meg die in the fire, what will happen now etc....
Ahhh, those were the days of decent "event" television unlike nowadays!!!

I remember in the last few months of Home and Away's run on ITV we were something like 4 episodes behind Oz. When we reach the 2007 season finale (sometime around late Feb/Early March 0 we will only be 6 weeks behind Oz so I guess we will have to take a lot of breaks during 2008 if they want to remain that far behind. It will be interesting to see whether they take a week here and there or a long break.
