I think that's much better

Much better than the previous singer.

something that could happen in australia tomorrow

With Beth having died, i would say that there will a good possibility that there will be no opening credits AND no recap either. They will probably do a recap but it is certainly adamant that there won't be opening credits in tomorrow's episode in Australia.

I think the new singer is a lot better than Israel, as other people have said on BTTB I think he sounds quite reminiscent of Mark Williams who sang the original theme! The Israel music was slightly better though.

Here's the latest spoilers hot off the press (i.e. we uploaded them a few mins ago on Back to the Bay)

May 7 - 11

Monday: Kelli embarks on her final most shocking act of revenge. Can Belle save Amanda from a ghastly fate? A shocking accident threatens to end a life. PG(d,v)

Tuesday: Peter makes a shocking discovery. Kim's behaviour drives Rachel into dangerous territory. Will Kit finally give in to her desires? PG

Wednesday: Kim struggles over his feelings for Kit. Jules is pushed over the edge. Cassie is humiliated in front of her friends.

Thursday: Cam's desperate dealings leave Martha in danger. Jules makes Cassie's life a misery. Lucas must choose between his family and his future. PG

Friday: Martha struggles to fight off an attacker. An attractive stranger turns Lucas's world upside down. Cam resorts to desperate measures. PG

I hope it doesn't lose the plot too heavily. Great episode in Australia tonight. Really, really brilliant telly. Writing was spot-on from beginning to end. Seemed like a "longer" episode without being dragged out - most UK soaps would have padded that out into an hour-long special episode which wouldn't have worked nearly as well.

The way that Beth has been killed offscreen has also been brilliant. There was no real "build-up" to the death, nobody was really expecting it, and with H&A's track record it could have been a random RTA but of course was not. The "unexpected" element of it, and not giving Beth a "proper" exit, so to speak, but took her out "for a break" only to kill her when she's supposed to return, gave the whole episode much more realism.

It's a shame we have to wait three months for this to come to the UK.

For those of you interested, this was the promo they ran last week promoting this week's shows (if that makes sense) - 'the biggest week of the year'.

I can't tell you much since I don't actually watch H&A (or any soaps for that matter).

A possible review of events that could happen on monday

Having ran away, Matilda finds herself in huge trouble as she is swept into the ocean

Jules and Lily discover this and Lily dives in to help her but Jules stays on dry land

A sudden tidal wave puts the pair in deep danger

Ric arrives and immediantely dives in with intentions to rescue the pair, he also eventually sends Jules away to get help

Although it is not fully known yet, it seems like that Ric does rescue both Matilda and Lily

The bad news though is yet to come, one of them could be facing death

Has Lily sacrificed her own life for Matilda? Or will they end up mourning both Beth and Matilda?

All will be revealed on Monday. Hopefully YouTube as ever, will have the answer.

Is it true that
Donald Fisher is coming back in June?

It is.

Meanwhile, for the first time since moving to Five, there's no episode on either Five or Five Life on May Day.

Hopefully it's to put Five Life on the Monday-Friday blocksync - we're still a decent way off of becoming dangerously close to Australia (currently about 10 weeks I think.)

I noticed that too - maybe Five want to start taking short breaks now on Bank Holidays to avoid having to take such a long break as they do in Oz when we eventually catch up?

Still early though.

We should start 2008 four weeks behind by my calculations.

Currently we 10 weeks behind, with 50 episodes.
Seven will take a six week break over Christmas 2007-8
Five would then start 2008 04 weeks behind, with 20 episodes.
Seven will take a two week break for the Olympics during the year.
Five will then be 02 weeks behind when Seven resume, with 10 episodes.

Next year I feel is the right time to lose episodes:

Factor in a two week Christmas break and you would lose 10 episodes.
Do that over Easter too and you lose 20 .
Add on a two-week summer break and you lose 30 episodes, which is all you need out of Olympic years. Another two weeks can be taken off for that anyway. These could be gained in advance by taking a two week break over this coming Christmas.

How ridiculous was last weeks cliffhanger - the cliff was about 3 ft off the ground!

Also, not that Home and Away has ever been realistic but it's a bit of a stretch to have Ric arrested one week for murder and on trial the next - and even more of a stretch to believe he'd end up in prison with the brother of the bloke he's accused of killing!
