I know it's been said before on here, but I really don't think the guy now singing the theme tune sounds right. Also, it's been bugging me for a while now although it's not really relevant - but if martha and ric are both alf's grandchildren and therefore cousins, and martha and macca are brother & sister then why isn't macca alf's grandchild and also ric's cousin? if that makes sense?!

Not really thought about that - I guess it's a half/step brother/sister thing - or wasn't Martha adopted or something.

Another thing that annoys me about Home and Away is the whole doctor-patient thing. One week they'll have a big scene with Rachel (and Flynn before her) operating or treating friend and make no big deal about it.

Then the next time a Summer Bay resident ends up needing life saving surgery (so a few days later usually) they can't do it because they're too close.

Same goes for the patient/doctor relationship thing - they made a story out of it being a problem between Kim and Rachel, but it's not even been flagged as an issue with Jack and his physio.

Martha was adopted so Macca is her adoptive brother, whilst Alf's daughter Roo is her real mother.

Even still it was a bit of a cockup that they left Martha out of the scene where Macca & Cassie left - surely she'd want to say goodbye to her own brother, even if he's a half-brother?

That vocalist is just plain WEIRD. Shame really as I like the arrangement (although still not as much as the 1995 version Wink)

New theme music - GOOD GOD. Where did they get those singers, my mum's karaoke night?

I like the arrangement (reminds me of an updated version of the original) but Five had it spot on in their funny episode guides when they said that Israel Caanan sounded like Lance.

What does everyone who hasn't seen them before think?

Note that they're still very occasional - I don't think you see them again now until next week.

I do like the idea of the titles but the execution of them is a bit wrong.

With regards to Rachel operating - she wasn't actually in charge wheras Flynn was with Leah. You may remember that Flynn assisted in both Kirsty's liver transplant and Kane's Cancer operation, but he was not the one in charge.

I like everything about the new titles except the singer. Its a shame they dont show the opening titles at the start of every episode anymore. Going by what happened during the later stages of the 2006 season id say they only show them 5% of the time.

I think the aim is once a week - which is ridiculous IMO!

Also pretty stupid that they pretty much give away Sally's fate in the first few seconds of the season premiere considering she's in the titles!

Ah but they could have done that to make us think she'd survive.

Is it just me or has the quality of the opening and closing credits higher. They seem much sharper.

Don't know - I think perhaps the blue of the previous set seemed more washed out if you know what I mean.

Talking of that though - notice they've added black bars to the credits at least to make them ultra widescreen.

That's another thing to add to my list of TV irritations - adding blackbars to widescreen images to give them the widescreen effect - generally more for the benefit of the 4:3 viewer!

I did notice that, i think the shift in colour like you said may have madei t look different.

Tomorrow's first look episode will have the opening titles.
