I quite like them - continue their present (unused) theme, but in a new way. I wonder how long they'll last though till they are cut to just the closing frame!
Blatant rip off of that ad though! (can't think which one!) Also, similar in ways to the axed spin-off Headland.
Theme could be better - I'm sure they'll be some uploaded on YouTube sooner or later with various previous versions used instead!
Also, they might be a bit more difficult to update than the current version - and in recent years at least Home and Away have been very good at updating their titles when characters leave.

I must say, now after watching the opening tites, seeing them with the music in the backgorund, it sounds better, and you are more focused to the titles rather than being totally focused onto the theme music alone... (maybe play the Video then the play the Audio directly afterwards, and you'll see what I mean!)
...Also, I noticed, that the colour of the H&A logo on the Video looks very simular like the it used to do in 'the old days!'
Yes, I agree on this too - maybe they will add them in when they re-do the titles next time!
...and it also sounds like he does not care when he's singing it and not putting enough effort into the song - then again, it could be sang like that as the show attracts mostly a teenage / young Adult audience, who are watching it Worldwide, so maybe he's trying to get that kind of message across to the Audience of the show on that perspective.

I have just seen the new opening titles. They are crap. I much prefer the current ones. Why no names of the actors/characters on the credits?

Interesting..
Sounds like cockney's singing it...
The "Dont Let Me Go" lyrics sound like Snake from The Simpsons.

Here's a example of the Australian short version of the titles:

Yes, I'm sure it's just his style of singing rather than him being rubbish! It's not for me though. It's a shame as I quite like the arrangement. The 1995 one is still my favourite though!

The reason why they do that is, if they want more air time to show a little bit more extra of the storyline.

They do it in the new season as well, however they haven't dropped the titles.

Notice though the titles disappeared in the second Aussie episode tonight in favour of a shortened version.
I agree it's stupid - Home and Away has one of the most recognisable theme tunes and they've managed for nearly 20 years without dropping the titles, so why start now?
