Well they did only bring Ella in to complete Hayley's storylines after Bec's sudden announcement she was leaving, it was never going to be a long term thing.

I do not think Hayleys departure was short notice, she was pregnant in real life and thats why she left.

Well it was short notice to the producers - in the sense that the scriptwriters, who plan all the storylines months in advance, were faced with a huge problem when Bec decided to leave before her contract was due to expire.

She filmed her final scenes less than 2 months she had announced she was pregnant

24 days later

IT LOOKS LIKE EXCITING THINGS ARE GOING ON IN AUSTRALIA AT THE MOMENT

The problem I'm finding with Home and Away is it seems to go from one tragedy to another, with every other tragedy seeming to involve psycho serial killers.

The main serial killer storyline put Home and Away head and shoulders above all the other soaps, but I'm beginning to tire of it a bit now!

As a side note, spin-off Headland has now been axed by Seven. C4 apparantly contributed much of the cost of the show, and it's likely now if they air it at all, it'll be in a graveyard slot!

Summer bay must be the size of sydney its had that many knocks and they never seem to hit the same place twice.

As for Headland does C4 have any luck with ozzie shows?

Im really enjoying Home and Away at the moment. The new family are good, and im enjoying the storyline with Kim as well. The custody battle with Irene and Diana was really good.

I think the problem with Headland was they wanted it to be a Home and Away spin off, but FIVE didnt want it, so as it was going on C4 instead it could no longer be a Home and Away spin off.

Have only just watched the 4000th ep, courtesy of Back to the Bay and really enjoyed it. I've not watched it for years but it was great to see some familiar faces back, especially Chloe! And a lovely retrospective half way through with the original title music (on loop I think!).

The music used was the second version of the theme I think.

Yes it was the version used from 1995 to 1999, though it wasn't quite on a loop, they just mixed the opening song and the closing song together to make one long track. Wink
