A question regarding the opening credits - how come some people are in the show for ages and don't get in them (like Zoe, Morag, and until recently Barry) yet others like Martha are put in straight after their first appearance!
And as for Martha - the worst actress ever - so bad they even turned her down for Neighbours!

Its because Zoe, Morag and Peter are recurring guests not regular characters, and only regular characters go on the opening credits.

But most of the guest characters mentioned are as regular as most of the cast! I guess Josie is coming back too as she's still in the titles!
One thing Home and Away proves though is a five times a week soap doesn't need a huge cast - they've got a core cast of 20-25 who are all key characters and take centre stage at some point - and generally feature at some point most weeks, rather than going weeks without being mentioned!

What are you talking about?
The running time of episodes is little more than a couple of minutes shorter than UK series!

But remember 5 eps a week of Home and Away , and Neighbours is still only 1hours of them programmes a week, compared to the soaps here, that have up to two hours.

Each ep is only just over 20 mins after all ads are taken into account.

Well, 5x20 does not equal 1 hr - and the standard length for a UK 30 minute programme is approx 23 minutes, so not much difference at all!

My mistake for some strange reason I was thinking about an hour having 100 minutes
