I think they're very "Seven" in style - which IMO is a good thing (I love Seven's presentation) and I think Seven may have even made them.
I think some storyline promos are needed, possibly even the end-of-ep promos from Oz which, although deliberately misleading, are designed to rope the casual flickers in and the Aussie ratings prove that the technique works.
It's a shame they've only done one ident, and of course they will be redundant when Bec Cartwright finishes as Hayley although this will not be until early 2006.

Well just two weeks ago she finished up (with how it's going to happen). Seven News had a story about her.

Yes - when Seven changed the style of their split-screen/ ECP credits in February, the format of the 'real' credits also changed to mirror the new style (where the credits are seen as a strip at the bottom of the screen underneath the ECP). On the real credits (not normally shown in Oz) the squashed up credits look rather untidy. I guess they changed the format of these to make it easier for those who make up the 'mock' credits; maintaining the same amount of credits to a frame, etc.

Last night on RTE i noticed a different style closing credits on Home and Away.
They where in style of the Channel 7 ones but at top of scene on the normal end credits background.

And said credits debuted in the UK tonight... this would have been the episode that screened in Australia on February 7th, as this was the date Seven revamped its ECPs.
I think it would have looked fine had they altered the background accordingly or included a "next episode" trailer on the International credits.

It also turns out that Five cut THREE MINUTES of footage from tonight's episode.

The treatment of the show on Five's part over the last year has nothing short of disgusted me. ITV cut episodes, yes, but only on one occasion did they remove 3 minutes of footage (The 1996 Season Finale, which was the late Chloe Richard's rape)
In the last six months Five have:
1. Shunted the show to mid-afternoon on multiple occasions
2. Pulled an entire episode (Episode 3878) from the schedules
3. Made numerous nanny-state cuts to the programme
4. Removed over 10% of tonight's episode
It's about time Five treated Home & Away with some respect, or they should give it to somebody who will.
