I guess this at least shows a sense of humour. :S

I don't, personally, think it does the site any credit when moderators take it upon themselves to remove posts with little or no sign of what they were or why they were removed. I'd be interested to see whether the removed posts actually broke the site's T&Cs.

Some spoilers for xmas and new year, now Hollyoaks is pencilled in on the C4 Press site as :

Boxing Day : 3 eps 5.55pm - 7.25pm
Thurs 27th and Fri 28th : 6.30pm usual

and then the following New Years week is usual, New Years Eve episode looks good :

It's New Year's Eve in Hollyoaks and while the final preparations are being made in The Dog, Jake (Kevin Sacre) is planning a romantic night in for two. In a final showdown with Warren (Jamie Lomas), Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) looks on in horror as he discovers that all of his money has gone. Meanwhile, Jessica (Jennifer Biddall) heads out of Hollyoaks village in a taxi, £200,000 richer . O.B. (Darren Jon-Jeffries) and Summer (Summer Strallen) count down the minutes until midnight, and as the fireworks go off above them, will the unlikely couple finally reveal their true feelings? At the Dog, Carmel (Gemma Merna) spots something suspicious about an abandoned vehicle and panics. As Carmel hurries inside to evacuate The Dog, Calvin (Ricky Whittle) leaps into action as he attempts to diffuse the potentially lethal situation.

They'll struggle to top last years Christmas episodes with Max and Claire - but certainly from the soap spoilers I've seen Hollyoaks do seem to have the most interesting line up of storylines over the Christmas period.

Don't know if it's been confirmed, but IIRC the info surrounding the new McQueen son said that secret would play out over Christmas.

Alot more happening before hand too:

(SERIOUS SPOILERS)

Russ steps in when Pete's sexual harrassment of Tina continues, with Russ and Tina, ending up in bed.

Jake's jealousy of Newt increases - first he packs his bags and leaves, and then he proposes to Nancy.

Darren resorts to theft when a loan shark threatens to harm Zoe if his debts aren't paid - leaving Newt to take the blame.

The paedophilia storyline takes centre stage as Gilly makes a discovery at Simon's house. With Simon looking after Tom, Gilly fears for his safety. When Simon's wife turns up and sheds light on her husbands behaviour, can Max and OB get to the house before it's too late - and will their friendship survive?

Warren wins half the dog of Darren, but Louise is angry to discover he risked The Loft.

Beth and Rhys continue to try and suppress their feelings for each other - with Rhys pleading with Beth not to leave the village.

In the New Year Danny and Lauren's mother returns to the village - with Lauren making it clear she's not welcome.

Jake becomes increasingly controlling over Nancy - and gets her arrested. Sasha also ends up in a police cell while Fletch's attitude towards drugs leaves Josh fuming.

Some good stuff coming up then, especially the Simon and the Jake and Nancy storylines.

You're right Sput. Nick Harvey got a warning for calling one member an idiot - yet here we are, Charlie Wells has described several members using that terminiology.

A mildly intelligent person would at least have split the thread and locked it, if not left it intact.

I don't know what happened here but can we leave it at that please. It's been addressed, so let's keep this thread on topic please.

E4 tonight and Niall has arrived - brilliant reaction from Warren when he realises who's thumped him!

Anyhow, I thought they were pushing it with the Dog last year but just 2-3 weeks after being destroyed by fire, Evissa is open and refitted. Meanwhile Ste hasn't been seen or mentioned since Warren discovered the truth.

I recognise the girl who plays Beth but not sure where from and it's driving me mad! Can anyone tell me what she's been in before Hollyoaks?

Apparently last weeks Hollyoaks was on course for it's highest ratings since 2000 according to a member on Digital Spy - quite remarkable really when it wasn't really a big week of episodes.

Having browsed through recent ratings the C4 airing is now regularly hitting the 2m mark - while E4's "first look" ratings have virtually doubled in a year, regularly attracting up to 700,000 viewers - the sort of figures they only used to get for the big cliffhanger episodes, with an average more around the 300,000 mark this time last year.

Last Wednesday's episode seems to have been the most popular of the week, with 2.5m watching on C4 and 778,100 catching it 24 hours earlier on E4.

Of course compared to the big three it's still not getting comparable ratings - but it is managing to attract new viewers and more importantly hold on to them - which considering it's target audience is watching less TV nowadays is a remarkable achievement.

P.S. Just found the figures for the Sunday omnibus - last week in an earlier than usual 9am slot it got around 750,000 viewers.

Bernice from Emmerdale is joining the cast in the role of Vivien Holden, Danny and Lauren's mum, which has been re-cast.

Ex-EastEnders actress Jacqueline Leonard played the role when the character made a brief appearance back in the summer.

Yeh, Jacqueline Leonard now has a regular role in BBC Scotland soap River City - I'm guessing that makes her too busy to do both jobs?

Hollyoaks on E4 appears to remain nightly at 7pm over Christmas, regardless of the C4 timings.

Ah...wonder how they'll overcome that? Unless they show "best of" eps from the year?
