Just watching the previews for next week and whether it's the same actress or not, Tessie just doesn't ring a bell at all.
Nice to see Julie and Izzy back though - it be great to have Izzy back permanently actually.
Also notice on the backstage vids they're using numerous versions of cuts for the titles/break-bumpers - and it seems the newbies have filmed ones - so I reckon there are probably at least six people to add to the titles now -
Danny and Lauren Valentine
Newt

and soon a couple more too.
Also, Summer's boyfriend James arrives this week but I don't think he's becoming a regular.
However - that got me thinking. James is in the army and it's amazing really how in the last four years none of the soaps have even attempted to tackle a storyline based around someone fighting in Iraq or Afganhistan - and possibly their death in action.

I reckon that's something that's been hinted at even before. When Jackie had her miscarriage didn't Myra tell someone she had lost a baby before she had Jackie - that was a thread that has ben totally ignored since - so maybe Myra's mum forced her to have an abortion rather than the miscarriage that we were lead to believe

The last couple of episodes have begun building up to bigger stories to come, especially with the hint of a rift between Myra and her mother due to something that happened when she was 14.

Yeah, I think so. Hollyoaks are actually very good at laying the foundations of a major storyline long before it happens.

There is a God! Not the first time either that Hannah has quit a long-running show...
Even so, I agree it shouldn't be the end for Katy. Here's two contenders, both can act, as possible replacements:
Kacey Barnfield
Ophelia Lovibond
Of the two, Kacey is the closest lookalike but Ophelia's Northern accent is so real you'd think she was native.

No - that was as Tamsin in Kerching. She lasted one series before being superceded by Elspeth Rae as Alex for the rest of the run. Trust me, she was just as bad then and that voice just as whiny. You could argue she was only young then - but with even younger actresses you can tell right away whether or not they've "got it".
Hannah's portrayal of Katy has certainly polarised Hollyoaks viewers. The reaction to her quitting is equally divided - on Digital Spy it's full "ding dong the witch is dead" party mode, while on the official Hollyoaks forum Hannah's supporters are blaming her detractors for what they believe to be a sustained "bullying" campaign which has caused her to leave the show.
In fairness, some of it has been below the belt. One person even started a petition to get Hannah axed but could only cite her voice as a reason for doing so(!) However, it is clear that a sizeable number believe Hannah is not a good actress - no-one has deliberately set out to bully the girl but what purpose does it serve allowing Hannah to believe she's a good actress when she clearly isn't (and probably got the Hollyoaks gig on the back of her sister's fame)? To me that is the more cruel thing to do.
Well it's never been Katy that's been the problem, just a bad choice of actress. Give either of the two girls I suggested the part and watch the character develop.

A shame really. I like the character as it brings out a different side to Warren, even if she is an appalling actress.

It's certainly a shame to lose Katy, I dislike the actress as she is dreadful but she is the only character in the whole show who has any power over Warren which is certainly an interesting theme.
Perhaps a gap of a few months / year and bring back a new actress as her would be the best way but Warren definately needs a foil.
