I quite like Spike - much more believable than turning Craig gay.

That storyline though has progressed so well now though that it's not the central attraction - and Craig whining about them kind of annoyed me anyhow.

We seem to have a few semi-regulars now, Alexander, Spike, Elliott and that bloke who crops up once a week to sleep with Kris.

P.S. Forgot to say really effective opening too.

Actually, though I hate it on Home and Away and wouldn't want to see Hollyoaks do it regularly, I think it might have worked better last night to ditch the opening sequence and just begin with a recap and then the logo forming.

I don't like Spike. I can't warm to him at all - maybe that's the intention?
I have to disagree on this one - he's a likeable charactor and you will get to like him more and more, as the story progresses.

Some spoilers for the next few weeks:

The big storyline:

After discovering Zoe wants to dump him, Will creates further trouble amongst the students, creating friction amongst the group.

Will goes on to drug Zoe, faking an overdose in her room - with Kris and Jessica blaming themselves.

Zak believes Will is up to no good, but as he and Zoe gather the evidence, their plan goes horribly wrong

Determined to unmask Will, Zak gets hold of his laptop and the students discover what Will has been up to, as Zoe makes a horrifying discovery of his own - ending up cornered in Will's room.

Ultimately Will is arrested - but can he trick a psychiatrist into letting him go. And after the truth is unveiled, one of the students heads home.

I think this has been a good long-running storyline for Hollyoaks - and it's a shame it has to come to an end really, as we'll probably lose two of the best new students we've had for sometime.

Other stuff...

Mainly Carmel and Alexander - sleeping together, promising to fight their feelings, sleeping together again etc. Meanwhile Jacqui and Tony try to juggle work and romance at Il Gnosh.

Justin has his eye on gorgeous new arrival Katy, but backs off when he discovers who she really is.

Russ has a list of things to get out of his system before he marries Mercedes - including sleeping with another woman - while Tina enforces a period of celebacy before her nuptials with Dom.

I dont know if anyone has posted this spoiler before but according to All About Soap

Claire is murdered and there will be a shock whodunnit storyline this summer. Apparently she will be pushed off the balcony at the club.

Now whilst I will be glad to see the evil and irrtating Claire leave, havent we had enough of these whodunnit storylines in soaps?

Not heard that one before.

It'll be Warren!

It be a shame to see the back of her actually - certainly for good anyway. It be good for her to disappear, see Max get back on his feet and then have Claire return further down the line to ruin his life again.

There's only so much you can do with this storyline and the character and so it will be nice to draw a line under it once and for all if that rumour is true.

Also a fade to black before the end credits tonight - but I think that was due to the cliffhanger - and a brilliant cliffhanger at that!
I loved the different style of music that was used in the next episode after this whilst Warren was speaking over it - do you think they will use the fading and the black title sequence in the Omnibus at the weekend? Laughing

Don't know - generally speaking when they use a different end theme it tends to be on a Sunday, so it played on the omnibus anyway - but as they won't play credits in the middle of it, I'll guess they'll just have to cut it.

Talking of the omnibus credits, I don't get why they continue to use the generic T4 format considering they never seem to use the invision continuity anyway - they just play the opening credits in that box.

I take back now what i said how the current music will ruin the "dramatic" effect, with the other music now playing at the end of certain episodes as mentioned above really improves it.

Does anyone actually like the character Will? - In that i mean as a villan, does he pull it off well?

Also, from The Sun - Summer preview....

HEARTBROKEN Myra is shocked to discover that Jacqui’s marriage to Aleksander is nothing more than an immigration scam and Louise finds out she is pregnant. But is Calvin or Warren the father?

Josh finds himself at the centre of an attempted murder investigation after attacking Mike Barnes with a brick in self defence. Will Mike pull through?

Craig’s struggle with his sexuality continues as he responds to John Paul and the two end up sleeping together. But the next morning, Craig is full of self-disgust and vows to keep away from John Paul for good.
