You will get used to it - and in fact they have kind of bought back the old music as after listening to it a few times you notice more in common with the original theme than the latest.
I've sorted out my blondes now - it's Hannah who is growing into a Lisa lookalike!
Most notable absense (which I didn't notice till he appeared on E4) would be Justin - though it be no real surprise if he left soon as producers have said there is nowhere for the character to go now his family has left. Only other is Fletch!
And to those of you tuning in and slagging it off today - have to kind of agree it was a weak episode. Most of the major storylines finished with Friday's episode with this episode setting up the next stage - things improve dramatically with the next on E4.
Loving the McQueen's today - especially glad they've picked up on Mercedes less than favourable reaction to John Paul coming out.
And tonight's E4 episode showed the oldies really do have a part to play - Myra McQueen and Mike Barnes especially.
CORRECTION: Aparantly Justin is the one break dancing according to the DS forums.

it is very overrated, isn't it.
the new titles look very 'young' don't they. You'd equate them more to something like Grange Hill or Byker Grove rather than Coronation St.
Well I guess you could argue that Hollyoaks is more like Grange Hill than Corrie. However I really think these titles dont suit the programme, and the theme tune seems quite unrecognisable from the original theme.

Got this show on in the background...It's absolutely dire. There are many bad shows on TV but my god this is in a league of it's own. I can't believe it's the same show that in the last few days some of you have said was
"By far the best soap"
and
"His performance is Oscar worthy"

The Official Hollyoaks Website logo has yet to be updated.... I wonder if the whole look will be updated as well as the the logo

Freeview - they said a few weeks ago the site would be getting a revamp.

I'm glad at first it seems unrecognisable - it's good to have a revamp which is more than a few added beats here and there.
The rifts are the most notable similarity, but listen to it a few times and you'll see (well, hear) that it's more a remix of the original theme than of the later, inferior, theme!
P.S. Amy's labour - quickest birth in history?

A quick mock of a logo idea - in the new font, but with the old tree:

Done the second because I thought it look good to have the tree part in the centre of the screen - but if they did that I think it be better off in the first "O" rather than the second.
P.S. Thought it might be interesting to see what we thought when the last titles debuted - not alot by the looks of it. Discussion starts page 3, ends page 4!

Channel 4 Sales site says that E4 First Look Hollyoaks got 1.029 million viewers. Surely thats another record?

Well, presuming the 600,000 - 700,000 and 800,000 were, well, yes!
Re: Break stings. They are brilliant. Prefer the animation of the logo in the "End of Part 1" sting though with the way the Male/Female symbol is used to switch from the action to the sting.
I don't like the way on the titles and "Part 2" stings when the circle zooms out the sting suddenly switches to the scene. They did the same in the old one but it was no where near as noticable.
It be great now they've filmed all these for the titles and sequence that they actually got a decent promo campaign up and running too.

It would be nice if they do have indivudual shots of what from when they were filming them, as they can be used in promos, a bit like what Neighbours (TEN Promos) do.
