The problem with having characters in the opening titles when you have such a high cast turnover is they need updating quite often.

It's a good idea actually. If Eastenders had Kat,Alfie,Little Mo,Chrissie and Sam in the titles then they'd be updated in November!

BTW,has anyone got the Let Loose titles?

But the point is Hollyoaks dont update them enough.

And when they do you get half the newcomers axed six months later!

I guess we'll get new titles around October, once the new batch of students are in!

Hopefully the rumoured clear out will happen - there are many characters who have just hung around too long, starting with The Hunters and Tony! We need a new family to bring in the school kids (they've bought in around half a dozen over the last year to join Justin, Nicole and co., but all have disappeared!)

Not seen them anywhere myself - it's on Sunday again at 10pm if you get the chance to catch it (and of course, every Monday!)

The titles are basically red and black with huge wavy curves animating revealing images of the cast, with their character names in big red writting and the actor names animating onto screen. The theme tune is completly different to the main show, and complete with vocals - beginning "Shut your mouth..."

Soaplife reports that Hollyoaks are to get a new family (the Ashworths) from 30th September. There are also some new freshers.

Some info on them on the website. The Ashworths move into the Hunters home, with two brothers and a younger sister.

Hollyoaks are beginning to lose the plot a bit though - the actress used to play Tony's mum this week (different to the last one!) is old enough to be his mother! Laughing

Im sure I read in one of the tv guides that the actress listed to play Victoria was the same actress who played her previously Confused

I see Andy and Dominic have been added to the cast list on the website. This probably means they will be regular characters.

Ive got a spoiler re Andy - highlight to read Andy drugs the freshers drinks and apparently Sam sleeps with one of the girls and thinks he's got lucky

Well, the E4 announcer took great delight in telling us it wasn't!

At last - new titles for Hollyoaks! Same theme tune though, but they are now using the official Hollyoaks logo, split into vertical lines like on Let Loose, and zooming through the "O" at the end.

Main title sequence nothing like Let Loose though - it's light blue and begins with a huge Hollyoaks logo zooming across the screen, then has 3D boxes flying across the screen with clips of characters - and interesting to note who's not included.

Nothing of Cameron, Zara or Darren - all rumoured for the axe, or the likes of Darlene and Craig Dean! I didn't spot OB either!

Out of the new characters only Andy, Rhys, Olivia and Jessica are featured prominently (that I saw), while regulars in the titles include Becca and Jake, Mandy and Tony, Sam, Russ and Danni, Max, Louise and Steph.

Gotta love E4 though - open the show by telling us that tonight we've got what Hollyoaks fans have been waiting months for - new opening titles, and tell us at the end Hollyoaks will be back with it's snazzy new titles on Monday - but of course cover half of them with an ECP!

Also, still using the old production endcap!

A couple more new characters on the way as well according to the website, Fletch - a cousin of the Ashworths who'll be Josh's best mate at school, and Freddy, a student animal activist, previously referred to but not seen.

I think Hollyoaks has picked up alot in the last few months, since the climax of the Justin/Macki/Ali storyline, and the new characters look alot more promising than the last couple of years too!

Doubt it, they were on E4 last night which is Monday's channel 4 episode so they will be introduced on Channel 4 as of Monday.

Hopefully C4 (or E4 First Look) will let the credits go without an ECP as well on Monday, though if they don't, the E4 4.30pm repeats from Tuesday are the best bet as they usually just have a small "Next" strap!

Sundays omnibus will have the old credits.

Does anyone have, or know of any website which have, old Hollyoaks title sequences - the only ones I can find anywhere are the outgoing 2003-2005 titles.

I think, excluding late-night spin-offs, there have been around 5 sets. The first had clips on a roll of film going vertically up the screen on the left, with the second set having them going round a curved film, again on the left.

Titles using the bridge and clips in the centre of the screen (like the outgoing titles) were then introduced, and I think there has been three versions. The first used the original Hollyoaks theme, then a new theme with new clips was introduced, then I think the clips were changed again.
