Still watching In the City - it's actually got a few interesting storylines going on it (I don't recall Let Loose actually having storylines - well, except for that Nun thing!)

Re: the Barnes. Don't know where you got that from - IIRC Sarah and her mother were introduced first and Kathy of course was a right bitch in trying to split Sarah and Rhys up - and eventually sleeping with him, so I suppose she's been a character you hate - but you love to hate her! Then you had Kathy constantly nagging at Mike when he quit his job.

I think Mike Barnes is quite popular though as the cool father figure.

What Hollyoaks needs now is one or two new "teachers" to interact with the school kids - and also have their own storylines. There are also some characters being criminally underused such as Louise.

Ah forgot about Louise, ive noticed peoples whereabouts are not explained - as to why we havent seem them in weeks.

I was watcing last night, and i was thinking back to the odd times i use to catch it years ago. There was that uni/student radio station - that big ginger girl was always there. Did she and Max go out? God i wish i watched it fully back then lol

Oh, and here is a pic from the Hollyoaks press release...

I think its the Ashworths that have proved unsuccessful rather than the Barnes. Apart from Rhys we hardly seem to see the Ashworth family.

Yeah, the parents especially very rarely feature - and Hannah and Josh & Fletch aren't seen enough. Hopefully though next weeks storyline should see their role increased - but they don't appear anywhere near as much as the Hunters used too.

With the "oldies" really it's all about where they work - the ones that feature most who the ones that "work" with the younger, more central characters in some form.

Back to In the City - I was wondering last night with the world Lisa is getting back into whether it might lead back to the self-harming storyline.

Really enjoyed tonight's episode which concentrated on the Osbourne-Deans.

Julie Goodyear was pretty good - loved the whole storyline and it might have been nice to have it running throughout the last few weeks too. A bit more promotion of it would have been nice too - it's only in the last week or so that her guest appearance has been mentioned.

Also, as well as a full compliment of Osbourne-Deans, we also had all the students and nearly all the McQueens (except Mercedes and John Paul). Loved the stuff with Dom too - all in all it's been a nice anti-dote to all the Becca-Justin stuff in the last couple of weeks.

Worth a watch tomorrow at 6.30pm on C4 - even if your not a Hollyoaks regular as in many ways it's a self-contained episode.

P.S. The McQueen sisters - any ideas on how their ages are supposed to figure out.

I think Jacqui is supposed to be the oldest. I'm guessing it's then Mercedes, Carmel and Tina - with Jean Paul squeezed in (or should I say out) before Michaela - who obviously is the youngest.

I watched the E4 episode tonight, it was ok but i personally didnt find it had that oomph. It was more comedy then drama.

Exactly! Hollyoaks can get away with things like that - and quite often has had episodes in a different style to the norm!

What was the accent meant to be, it seemed to be some kind of polish-transilvanian-welsh to me. Laughing

Chloe Bruce The Moose? I think they did go out didn't they.

On Brekkie Boy's advice I watched tonight's episode.
I haven't laughed so much in ages. The hotel stuff was hilarious, especially with the strange filter they had on the camera.

Oh and the perfect family dinner turning into the carry out was inspired too.

So do Darren and Carmel end up going out then? I hear that they do, then Darren cheats on her with Michela!
