I have to apologise for posting so irregularly on these forums, but I do follow the topics raised very closely.

Just had to say how much I'm enjoying Hollyoaks: In The City at the moment. Great storyline and great acting!

Alright, so being 20 years old, it appeals for someone more of my age, but it's rare for me to sit through a programme, forget everything else going on in life and just be engrossed by the programme.

I've not been so keen on the other spin off programmes, but this one is very very good and I can't wait to find out what happens next week as last night's episode was left on a cliffhanger moment, but I will not spoil for anyone watching the repeat on Sunday evening.

Agreed, It a great show (i have never even watched hollyoaks) but i did watch 'Let Loose' and thought it was awful but in the city is fab, great acting and fantastic storylines ...

I hope 4 give it another Series, this series will end in december.

Thanks for that information Liam.

It is nice to see some classic actors back too. Philip Oliver was always very popular in Brookie and he's done a really good job in Hollyoaks too.

Do you think it would work if any of the characters like Precious or Burton were incorporated into the main show, but in keeping with the storyline of some characters being "In The City"?

Probably not - it didn't really work with the Let Loose characters (prior to the series) and the In the City cast is deliberately quite different.

Ben and Lisa are certainly less annoying this year compared to Let Loose. We haven't seen much of Ben really, but Lisa has developed into a better character and got past her whining stage!

I agree with you on that Brekkie Boy.

It would be great to merge "spin off" characters into the main show so we still how their character develops, but I agree it wouldn't be a very good idea.

Are any plans for Ben or Lisa to come back to Hollyoaks or did they officially leave before the spin off shows started?

Good episodes on C4 and E4 tonight. About time the truth about Rhys and Cathy came out - it was so long ago id forgotten it happened until it was mentioned!

Considering they didn't return after Let Loose I doubt it, even as a guest apperance.

Also both their familes have now gone along with most of their co-stars - I think only the likes of Tony and Max and OB are still in it from since they quit.

One thing about In the City though is I think unlike Let Loose it could continue quite comfortably without Ben and Lisa.

P.S. The main show is going from strength to strength now it's moved on to it's next big story.

Dont forget Becca! She has been in it longer than most - since the 2001 student intake I think. But yes most of the other cast apart from Max/OB/Tony/Becca have changed over the last couple years.

.....Is'nt it about time they had new titles.... do'nt you think?

I agree it's time Hollyoaks did get new titles. A lot of the characters shown have either moved on to pastures new, or died now.

To echo a comment someone made earlier in the thread (apologises I forget your name), Hollyoaks In The City has been very clever. They have done the titles based on the characters starring in that week's episode.

For example we saw Kay (Kym Marsh) in only three different episodes before being killed off. In those weeks she didn't appear, she wasn't included in the titles. About time they did the same with the main Hollyoaks titles me thinks!

New titles are really needed. Even the Daily Mirror are wanting new titles (well, Polly Hudson and the other girl from the TV review page).

In the City has a smaller cast with few people appearing in each episode so its possible for them to do titles based on who is in that episode. With the main Hollyoaks, new titles would be good as long as they updated them every time someone left (like on Home and Away)
