Don't be so over sensitive - it had **** all to do with 9/11!
Brilliant follow up episode tonight on C4 - arguably better than Friday's actually. The interviews with the characters were brilliant.
Surely though the police recovering the plastic petrol can in one piece is a bit unrealistic though!
Anyhow, disappointed the opportunity wasn't taken to change the titles - but actually they have changed.
All though they've left all the dead characters in the main title sequence, along with Mandy, Andy and Danni who went months ago, they did change at least the final image in the background, replacing a shot of Sophie and Mel with one of Mercedes washing a car!
Now surely if they've realised that needed replacing, they should have noticed that at least 4 of the boxes in the titles need replacing too!
Anyhow, on to In the City and the mood isn't much brighter there! Another ex-Corrie star though in the form of Denise Welsh - and if my memory serves me right Burton was her son in the Street, wasn't he!

And so on to the next storyline with the pregnancy - done really well tonight. Michaela is a brilliant character really - so Vicky Pollard on the outside, but a good friend when she needs to be.
Not liking the storyline so much around Olivia's death. Kris annoyed the hell ouf of me when he arrived, then he became quite a good character, but now he's just annoying again!

it's filmed in Liverpool... is'nt it? (the same studios where Brookside used to be set - the Subar is where the old 'Bar Brookie' was... was'nt it.....?
But in general... I'm from London, and have not been to Chester, so can't comment on what the area or town looks like, so I suppose the producers have been there, to see what it looks like, and have made it look like it is actually in Chester!!!

JUst out of curiosity where bout in Chester is the Hollyoaks village set. I noticed the new parts of the set on friday eg the bridge and river. There is a village type place on the banks of the river nr the famous bridge that looks similar to Hollyoaks.Maybe its based on that,.

It is filmed in Liverpool but set in Chester yes. Ive been to Chester once and it was quite nice, I preferred Liverpool though!
I have heard some people slating Hollyoaks for having yet another teen pregnancy storyline but I cant remember the last one? Was it Cindy Cunningham in the early days of the show? Anyway I think so far this storyline is good and some nice scenes with Amy and Michaela.

Cindy is the only one I can think of - and I think she may have been out of school by the time.
Talking of the early days there was a nod to the early days in Sophie and Mel's funeral with the headstone of "Lee Stanley" (of Stan & Ollie - the original Max and OB) at the church.
The funeral episode was brilliant by the way!
Back to the location, Hollyoaks isn't supposed to be in Chester itself, but a village on the outskirts.
I don't know if it's based on anywhere specific - in the early days the city walls and river were very prominent in the show but they are rarely used now.

If anyone has a copy of the first set of titles ISTR they had a map which showed that "Hollyoaks" was a suburb to the SW of Chester (possibly where Christleton or Waverton actually are).
The set is actually in part of what was Chillwell College which is in Liverpool IIRC from a previous thread. The old Brookside set is no longer used since the characters concerned moved into the village.
I do miss the location shots of Chester though from the early days as it's such a nice city.

I have to apologise for posting so irregularly on these forums, but I do follow the topics raised very closely.
Just had to say how much I'm enjoying Hollyoaks: In The City at the moment. Great storyline and great acting!
Alright, so being 20 years old, it appeals for someone more of my age, but it's rare for me to sit through a programme, forget everything else going on in life and just be engrossed by the programme.
I've not been so keen on the other spin off programmes, but this one is very very good and I can't wait to find out what happens next week as last night's episode was left on a cliffhanger moment, but I will not spoil for anyone watching the repeat on Sunday evening.
