Im not sure but maybe the 1 hour special on the Friday is just 2 episodes stuck together?

I noticed Zac mentioned in the episode description in one of the tv mags but didnt realise it was the same guy as before - I was surprised to see him in tonights E4 episode especially as he was axed!

Was it "Zac Barnes" before - I'm sure it wasn't Ramsey and guessing they've changed it due to the introduction of the Barnes family. Be interesting anyhow to see how they build his character up.

Anyhow, looks like it's a very early student intake for Hollyoaks Community College this year - normally it's not until October!

We've got cross dressing Chris, Joe's old school pal Zoe and a bloke called Will.

Didn't like Chris at all at first, but he got better throughout the episode. The other two seem OK though!

Yes the name Zac Barnes rings a bell!

I havent seen tonights E4 episode yet but will on C4 tommorow - I look forward to seeing the new arrivals.

I don't really like Hollyoaks but the E4 episode shown today featured the Countdown music followed by the clock. I was confused thinking whether or not that was part of the programme as I didn't understand how the clock collaborated with what they were talking about.

Well, if you were listening to the actual dialogue you'd have realised that Will was the 15 year old whizz kid who was Countdown champion in 2003 and was at Oxford University at the time. He's now at Hollyoaks comp - saying he's come to get away from "being a kid in an adult world"

On Tuesday night on Five Selina Scott was at the Hollyoaks set as part of her programme slagging off todays TV. I'm sure the quote was probably not in it's full context, but they basically had the producer saying something like that they'd taken inspiration from characters in Big Brother when casting this years student intake.

Having watched today's channel 4 and E4 episodes, I quite like the new students so far - although yes it is rather early for them to arrive.

I like Will - I think he could be an interesting character. Chris is ok too although could be a bit annoying after a while I think. Not sure about the girl yet.

Haven't seen Hollyoaks lately due to excessive work but has this guy appeared yet?

He was interviewed on UTV Live last week but I didn't catch when he was starting, just that he was only there temporarily.

Yes thats the Irish guy, Chris, who is into cross dressing! I wonder if the character is gay?

Arrow With regards to the Opening/Closing titles... dont you think they need new ones as I'm sure Jez is still in them... and a few other people who have left the show...!!!

Arrow Does anyone know if and when E4 would repeat Holloaks In The City on Channel Four... it would have to be on late of course, as I've only seen the first one... and mist the rest...

I think they definately need new titles, thats the problem with having titles that the characters feature on, they need updating often. They should update them everytime someone leaves but never do.

I dont know whether C4 will ever show In the City as I dont think they ever screened Let Loose. E4 repeat it on a Sunday night though.

When introduced in late October last year we were promised these titles would be updated regularly as characters left - but of course they never were and they were actually out of date by Christmas.

I think though they will probably not just be updated, but also completly changed in the not so distant future considering they are trying to change the feel of the show.

They've got most the new intake for the year already on screen, and within a week a few will be off to that great soap opera in the sky.

I just hope they don't make the mistake of doing the big "Who's died?" cliff hanger then introducing new titles in the next episode with all the dead people missing!

Time to update the theme tune too - that one's been around a few years now and it's time for another reworking IMO, preferbly with more similarities to the original.

P.S. C4 screening a new ad promoting Friday's hour long episode. It looks like Jez was right, with some TV guides listing it as two 30-minute eps, so the first half hour will probably be on E4 on Thursday.

P.P.S. From a week on Monday E4 will be screening (the axed) Home and Away spin off "Headland" at 7.30pm. No idea on the overall standard, but the titles are pretty good!

I'll be surprised if we get totally different titles to be honest. Usually they dont change the titles after just 1 year - more like 2 or 3.

Has it been confirmed who dies yet?

I assume
the twins both die
