It's not been mentioned here but is getting nothing but praise over at Digital Spy - the last couple of episodes of Hollyoaks have been outstanding!
It's not been the best of years for the soap and a huge cast clear out is on the way as the soap is revamped this Autumn as it reaches it's 10th birthday.
However, when it's at it's best it makes the other soaps looks like amatuer dramatics.
Earlier this year around Easter they had a fantastic storyline around schoolboy Tom going missing.
This week though we've seen a long running racial fued come to an end, resulting in two deaths and a murder inquiry.
SPOILER ALERT (if you've not seen it!):
Ali stabbed racist Macki, then got hit by a car as he fled the scene. Step-brother Justin saw the incident and retrieved the knife, but now looks likely to get the blame. Chris Fountain especially as put in outstanding performances, easily steeling every scene!
The best thing though - it wasn't really hyped (though did get a C4 trailer)! The story unfolded to viewers as it played out on screen, not in the listings mags.
Meanwhile, details of two late-night spin-offs have been confirmed.
Hollyoaks: Crossing the Lines airs on C4 from Mon 5 September, while E4 series Hollyoaks: Let Loose begins a week later at 9pm following Ben and Lisa as they leave Hollyoaks for pastures new.
