It's still though the highest rated non-news programme in the 6.30pm slot

Of course it is considering apart from the news it has hardly any competition at that time.

What about Family Affairs? That usually gets a strong million viewers.

Well as thats on FIVE which has less viewers than C4 overall, Hollyoaks is bound to get more than Family Affairs.

Family Affairs had dipped below 1 million a lot recently, although IMO its a far better soap than Hollyoaks by far.

Speaking of Hollyoaks/Brookie, if anyone is looking for a new house and a great peice of TV memorabilia, the houses of Brookside Close are for sale...

Hollyoaks and Grange Hill are no longer using the Close as a set.

They mentioned this on Granada Reports the other night, Phil Redmond bought them for £21,000 each back in 1981, now they are worth about ten times that value.

I remember they were going to keep the Close going by using it as Offices and filming for Hollyoaks. Plus the whole thing about continuing Brookside onto DVD didn't last very long did it?

Selling Brookside Close - if that happens, what will happen to the Taylor's house? (Used to be the Dixons/Farnhams/Collins/Musgroves) I'm aware that the Deans no longer live next door to the Taylors, so does that mean the latter will also move?

And I'm sure Grange Hill has also used some of the Brookie houses for sets - I caught a glimpse of an episode which was filmed in what looked like the Shadwicks' bungalow.

I wonder whether people will be interested in the houses in Brookside Close considering the death and chaos caused there - and hopefully they'll have fixed the plumbing since Jimmy Corkhill's antics in the last episode! Smile

Mm, and hopefully there isn't really anyone buried under the patio...

Not sure about Grange Hill but the Taylors moved out of their house a couple of weeks ago (to Ben's house). The Cunninghams house (which was around the corner from Brookie close) was burned down earlier this year (on screen).

P.S. Ratings - it's probably slightly lower in the summer but generally it average around 2.5m a night, with FA around the 1m mark.
