Why do I get the feeling that somewhere along the line you've missed the point of adverts?
I've never got the point of adverts because I've never see an entire community walking down the street singing the praises of clover spread and neither have I seen small children turn into cartoon people after eating Haribo sweets. (for example)

they did have polar bears about 8 years ago I think, another daft one seeing as polar bears have more sense than to drink coca cola in the first place
I'm not say we shouldn't celebrate Christmas how we like I just fail to see why the ads insinuate that coca cola make Christmas
at a guess the image of baby Jesus slurping cola would definitely cause offence, but then again images of Jesus laughing caused offence to some

You are taking the p*ss right? If not...
Have you ever considered that the point of advertising might be to introduce and remind you of a product rather than give a specific 'serving suggestion'?
For example you are now familiar with the Clover and Haribo brands - when faced with a choice of margarine or sweets, you are more likely to purchase a brand you recognise.

I've never seen the point of Coca Cola advertising - being the biggest drinks company in the world anyway. That said, I enjoy the Christmas ads.
That Orange Broadband ad with the walking 'tic-tacs' is getting right on my nerves!

I can see the point of having Coca Cola advertising in Scotland. We're one of the few countries in the world who don't have Coke as their top selling drink - Irn Bru is.
I can't be bothered with the Orange ad either. It nips my tits.

Even the biggest boys have to remind you they're there.
But as you say everyone knows who Coke is and what it does. Which is what annoyed me when clearly someone in management or marketing sabotaged the Coca Cola "Love" ads. You know, the one with the bald bloke trying to hug people on the street to no avail until he offered them a free Coke, after which they were all his.
At the end of the ad "Love" appeared in the Coca Cola logo script. And that was it. No mention of Coke at all. And why not? We all know the Coke logo so well that you could write any word in its script and people would know it meant "Coke".
Yes that's until some numbnut must have got hold of it and said "wait wait there's no logo on it". Whereupon, "Love" then fades out and is replaced by .. you guessed it .. the Coca Cola logo. Marvellous.
Think of some of the most well-known global brands' logos. McDonald's, Nike, Coke. You don't need to be told what the logo represents. The logo does its own talking.
Which is why I liked the "Love" ads simply cos it was more effective at shouting "Coke" at you, simply by not shouting "Coke" at you. That way it's not just another Coke advert which is more likely to make people think; more likely to make people talk. "Was that a Coke ad? Must've been, it looked like the Coke logo. And they were drinking Coke throughout. Hmm. Really fancy a Coke".
Yes I should be working.

I stop buying a product if the add annoys me. If you think something is stupid why buy into it?
Are you really that fickle?

I prefer it if they show the name.Big Brother hasn't had the text underneath for 2 years now and they shouldn't have removed it.
I think they should have an advert with a man shouting"THIS IS AN ADVERT FOR COCA COLA!" then show the product.I think that would be funny.

Why not? You just said you know what the show's called. Anyone who doesn't know the theme tune or the logo probably wouldn't want to watch anyway.

The text is completely pointless now. Everyone knows either the theme tune or the eye even if they don't watch the programme.
