distinctive...like Celebrity Masterchef

Wow, that's really distinctive! A cooking programme (really novel, no-one's ever thought of that) with celebrities (I think they're on to something with the celebrity theme). Rolling Eyes

I take it the other distinctive 7pm regulars like Watchdog / Question of Sport / Big Cat Weeks / Masterchef / Supervets (I'm not including Open All Hours) etc. will find alternative homes in the schedule or are they to be axed too ?

I wouldn't be surprised. I did read an article a few weeks back that was quite revealing about the sorts of people who dominate the BBC...

And those sorts of people would be.. Confused Confused:

At a wild, crazy guess, I'd say the article would be from the Daily Mail. Failing that, the Mail on Sunday.

I'd expect the people would be lesbians, brown people, and anyone under the age of 45.

I wouldn't be surprised if many of these programmes were axed and replaced by items on The One Show. They could do weekly consumer items etc just like Regional News magazines or This Morning do

If memory serves me correctly - as I was a small child at the time - didn't Watchdog actually start life as a segment on Nationwide?

Put The Telly On
What a shame. I remember the late great Jill Dando showing us the delights of Barbados on Tuesday nights in the mid-nineties. Had a great mellow guitar theme back then as well. I hardly think The One Show will beat it but there we go, yet another era gone.

I believe Watchdog is moving to a later time opposite one of the many episodes of Coronation Street. Possibly 8:30 on a Monday.. but I might be wrong.

I still think The One Show is a **** name. Why can't they just call it Nationwide?

with the One Show being on for most of the year does this mean a return to what used to happen during the early 80's. i.e. when The One Show is not on we will have weeks worth of programming such as Hospital Watch, Rail Watch etc.....

Nationwide ... who would use a daft name like that? Perish the thought Wink

Political correctness always has been mad... but then again political correctness isn't mad; it is a perfectly sane way for the politically correct to suppress views, thoughts and people that they don't agree with and to eradicate free speech.
