What were they thinking when they commissioned this?

It seems to be a midly amusing 2 minute idea as part of another show, extended over an entire series

On paper it had the potential to be a ratings winning guilty pleasure - but then the BBC got their hands on it.

Dale Winton is the completely wrong choice as host, while Team Captains and random celebs just doesn't work. Be much better to have just two teams of celebs each week and set up shows such as EastEnders vs Corrie, Holby vs Casualty etc.

I do agree though it's much more suited as a segment as part of a bigger show rather than a show in it's own right.

Yep, could have had some potential but needed a good comedian or someone funny as host, not Dale Winton.

The show was a good laugh really, but surely they weren't that limited on the presenter front?

It's not that Dale Winton isn't competent, it just seems like for this type of show, he doesn't fit the bill. It could do with someone particularly funny, witty, or just a plain wacky presenter could have added something extra.

That said, I'd also be curious to see what it would be like if they'd got someone with a completely and deliberately dead-pan style to present this show...

I thought someone set up a thread about my local, ah well.

My dad asked me "Do they do this all show".

I think this may have worked better with the general public and yes Dale was an odd choice to front it, but who would have been better?

Always thought it was more suited to a part in Jimmy Carr's Distraction personally.

Not a big Dale fan, but switched on because had seen clips of the Japanese version.

To be fair, although it's a very slim concept, it's maybe what Saturday night needs at that time - some harmless fun, with no judges, no eliminations and no talent-show element.

It's something different. I appreciate the fact it's a nice mix of variety/game show, but the concept seems a bit rubbish in my opinion. It's like a half hour show based on a game from Takeshi's Castle.

It's funny you mention that as its a format (probably) pinched from the Far East as this You Tube link shows.
