I'd thought I'd start a thread about the new Police Drama 'Holby Blue' that starts on BBC One soon - I did do a search but could not find anything on Holby Blue alone.

HolbyBlue is a sexy and stylish eight-part police drama set in the fictional city of Holby. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

---> The Official BBC Website says that if you've not seen either Holby City nor Casulaty before, don't worry, but you'll get the jist....

--->To start the discussion/thread off, there's a Trailer of the show on the website.

---> There's some infomation about the Characters, Actors and Actresses here

I initially heard that it will go head to head with The Bill at the same time... the trailer looks interesting, but what are all your thoughts?

I'm really looking forward to this, there really arent enough badly written and badly acted cop dramas on TV. Rolling Eyes

I think this was the initial plan but was scrapped. It's now taking Holby City's slot. Holy City is being moved to Thursday's for the duration.

All BBC1 needs is another show in the Holby franchise

They should rename Waterloo Road to Holby High as that is very Holbyish as well

Yeah, that's going in the same direction as Holby City as well, with its 20 part 3rd series later this year.

I could have sworn I heard somewhere that they've commissioned a full series of that "Casualty 1906" thing as well.

At this rate BBC One Scotland is going to be nothing but Holby spin-offs and River City.

Could say the same thing about ITV with Heartbeat and The Royal (which is also getting a spinoff), however at least ITV dont run them both at the same time - we will have Casualty, Holby City and Holby Blue all on air for the next few months.

Holby Blue is only on for 8 episodes but I wouldnt be surprised if it eventually becomes an all year series as Holby started off with about 9-10 episodes in its first series, then went up to about 20, then 30 and eventually 50. Casualty is also on far too often, I preferred it when it was on for 6 months from Sept-March and then it had a break. Now we barely get any breaks at all.

Interesting that Holby City is moving to Thursdays - It started off in this slot IIRC and I preferred it on a Thursday. I wonder if it will stay there when Holby Blue ends?

I've been thinking about the holby franchise and there are so many posibilities:

Holby's Burning
Holby High (as mentioned above)
Holby FM (as mentioned in Casualty before now)
Holby International (the airport mentioned on Casualty last Saturday)
Holby's Housewives
Holby Property Developers
Holby's Hotelliers
Holby University
Holby Tonight (the TV Programme mentioned in Casualty before now)
Holby's MPs (featuring Harry Harper Laughing )
Holby Watch (on the beach with apparently Holby also has)
Holby's Taxis
Holbyrail

I could go on, but that's enough for now...
