The programme is being axed when?

Scottish TV just played out their trail for Saturday night, and the show is there - clip and all.

It really is a ghastly piece of television - not least because the repeat on ITV2 forces them to drop Judge Judy.

UTV played the same trail earlier today. I wonder if they'll show this week's or put something in its place.

As a matter of fact, no. I can never recall my password.

It would be nice after all this time if those who post links to Media Guardian pages could simply do a copy and paste job (with acknowledgement, naturally).

It's not as if it doesn't get requested virtually every time a MG link is posted.

Just registered there now on Media Guardian. For those of you who aren't registered or can't remember their passwords, here's the full story:

ITV axes Rock around the Block

Saturday night entertainment show Rock around the Block has been pulled from the ITV1 schedule, joining the list of the network's summer ratings flops.
Rock around the Block will be replaced by a repeat of bloopers show It Shouldn't Happen To... in its 7.10pm Saturday slot from August 13.

Unusually, ITV1 has decided against rescheduling the remaining two episodes of the six-part series in a different slot.

Normally when a broadcaster axes a peak time show for poor ratings, it will be rescheduled in a less competitive slot, often late in the evening.

Each episode of Rock around the Block challenged two unmusical families to learn a hit pop song in just a few days.

But the show failed to take off with Saturday evening viewers, launching with 1.8 million viewers and a 12% audience share on ITV1 on July 16.

The third episode, last weekend, attracted a slightly higher audience, with 2.1 million viewers, but the same share - 12%.

Rock around the Block joins Celebrity Wrestling, The Real Good Life and Fat Families on the list of shows ITV has axed in the past three months because of poor ratings.

Bad Lads Army, Baddiel and Skinner, Corrie and Emmerdale, are the best programmes ITV are putting out so far this month (my opinion).

I don't understand why the Powers that Be at ITV thought RATB was a Saturday night show. It was originally intended as a daytime show, and might have done alright in the 5pm weekday slot. Why on earth they thought it had prime time potential, I really can't fathom.

I may have a bad memory for passwords, but you are just an idiot.

It plainly says in the piece that the programme will not go out on August 13th.

That explicitly implies the programme will go out this weekend.
