I'd heard good things about James, so tuned in recently - then was confronted by one of these whiney radio voices that I can't cope with. Which was a shame.
This annoyed me, as it was live on The Hits, I know I can get Key 103 but I can never be bothered putting it on, I haven't listened to Stannage for some time now. But he is really funny and dead honest.
I cannot *bear* James Stannage's voice, and I can't listen to him anymore. But a lot of what he says is very sensible and shocks many of the [quite honestly] ignorant, uneducated sheep-like listeners into looking at what actually goes on beyond the end of their gold jewellery. Though he has got into trouble before for overstepping the mark.
Stannage stopped being simulcast on Magic last month mainly because Key 103 [both formerly Piccadilly Radio of course] wanted him to be exlusive to their station, because of his popularity.
The idents/advertising proved problematic for broadcasting live on the Hits as well, so the recorded situation arose which you now have.

True, he has admitted that he has got into trouble before, but there was a situation when he started having a go at middle aged men who still lived with their parents for no good reason, though very funny it was, it suprised me he didn't get into trouble.
Though it was funny after Christmas as he expressed his joy in the fact that The Radio Authority doesn't exsist anymore.
