Hit Entertainment, the company behind Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine, is in talks with BSkyB over launching digital channel devoted to pre-school age children.
The pair want to launch a pre-school channel to take on Nick Jr and Play Disney.
The channel would be managed, programmed and broadcast by Sky but would draw on the extensive programming library and resources of Hit Entertainment. It is thought that some acquired and original UK content would feature.
Broadcast will report next Thursday on the launch of the channel.
