I had no idea either, I would have expected to seen it discussed somewhere too! Downloaded a VHS rip from a private torrent site a few weeks ago, hopefully some nice person will have spotted this in time and upload it.

I saw this in the schedules, but figured it would probably be rendered unwatchable by the BBC FOUR bug, so I haven't bothered with it. Though I'm guessing a DVD release might be on the cards, considering the first DVD release is long sold-out and changes hands for inordinate amounts of money?

I'm sure I remember saying this in the last High Life thread we had on here so it could be a self perpetuating myth...

However, I'm fairly sure that a second series was pretty much written by Alan Cumming and Forbes Masson but as production proper was due to begin, Alan Cumming was just beginning to break into the US film market so it never sadly went ahead. Such a shame, and would be great if they could both re-unite for a second series - it really was just stupidly funny.

Mind you, Forbes Masson is a RSC actor now so he's doing alright for himself as well.

Still though - nothing beats The High Life!

Forbes also writes some rather fabby pantos, too. The Tramway in Glasgow (I think) is host to them.

And you're exactly right - Alan was offered the Bond movie after the second series scripts were written, I'm told.

Except perhaps their original comedy double act, "Victor and Barry" - which was born out of lunchtime theatre when they studied at the RSAMD. I saw them live many times.

Hysterical. I still have an audio tape of theirs, too.
