If you want a chat with one particular member only, use the PM system.
For wider interaction, post in existing threads, or start a new one if a thread on your chosen topic doesn't already exist.
Most of us are nice, but there are some angry socially retarded members who make it their job to be moderators and post unhelpful blunt slap downs, so best not to get their backs up
