The last time I saw it was about a year ago, on BBC1 and BBC2 at the same time!
I think the one on '2' was being sent from London as the Ceefax feed was from London, so up in Scotland, our local news was the London news!
I hate the way ITV is becoming increasingly corporate, with only 3 or 4 regional progs aday, not counting the obligatory regional news. I would like to see it go back to the time when STV (or your local Channel 3) *was* ITV, with networked programmes restricted to CITV and evenings. It could even go even more local, giving programmes from your county. But of course that would not suit the big multinational advertisers.
Thanks for reading, don't forget to switch off your PC, and unplug it from the wall.
It's such a shame about SOTCAA, I hope someone sorts something out.
Although I didn't post in there that often, mainly in the TVF, which has been going through a bad patch recently, but slowly improving.
No doubt the SOTCAA members will come back into the TVF again. Providing Mr Clown and Mr Bottle don't start their pathetic rantings again, it should be ok.
It's a forum called Some Of The Corpses Are Amusing, for elitist comedy lovers. It has some intelligent opinions about comedy. They like some 'non-intellectual' comedies as well like Only Fools And Horses and fawlty Towers

I have to say that although, yes, it would be nice... like it or not, you have to accept that ITV becoming MORE egional would be a GIANT STEP BACKWARDS.When ITV first started in 1955, being regional was the right thing AT THAT TIME, but the world at large has obviously changed beyond recognition since them (and still is constantly changing, always will and always has). So these days, consolidation is the way forward.
Don't percieve this as an irreversible END. If in X number of years it is percieved that becoming more regional again would be beneficial, I'm sure it would be possible.
Let's suppose we regard the current consolidation of ITV as the only MAJOR change to the station since 1955, why can't that be the first of many MAJOR changes?

Fair enough, but there is nothing wrong with learning from the past. BBC 1 Scotland and BBC 1 Wales announcers now always say 'Now on BBC1 Scotland/Wales' and this may spread to all regions.
On Scottish TV there is always an advert on trumpeting the fact that Scotland has been split into 6 tramsmission areas allowing for local advertising. Why could this not be extended to programming?
Does the USA not have local public-access stations for some counties/towns?
