I hope so too - I worry that he's been sent away to the big weather forecaster bin again. Anyone got any more news on his possible stint on News24? Or indeed on his long term future at the BBC?

I suppose you could say that - I just think he's REALLY GOOD. And there aren't enough REALLY good presenters on these days. I find it odd that people like Penny Tranter and Jo Farrow are permanent members of BBC staff, while a really good presenter like Mr Corbett is only here for fill in.

By the way, another excellent world forecast from the aforementioned himself on the web right now!

I don't think that you could say Penny Tranter is a bad forecaster - she has had years of experience behind her like Micheal Fish and Rob McElwee. But i agree about Jo Farrow, Louise Lear, Elizabeth Saary, Nina Ridge, Tori Good etc. they're pretty useless, but are only used for the overnight stints on News 24, not on the major forecasts on BBC One.

Some of the better presenters include Dan Corbett, Alex Deakin, Micheal Fish, Phillip Avery, Helen Young - you wouldn't really find these doing to the dodgy shifts anymore, so its best to keep the crap ones where no-one sees them!

I've seen Dan on a lot during the daytime on BBC World, and he's doing regular shifts now. He isn't just on at night.

And exciting news - he's back on the forecasters section of the BBC Weather website. Although the less good news is that it says that he returned in 2003 to present forecasts on BBC World for a few months. So perhaps no hope of a permanent return.
