I noticed that MediaGuardian did not give this such a good review.

I thought it was promising and I shall be watching part2. I think that Ray Winstone is a very watchable actor.

I did wonder however, if Henry VIII's reign wasn't a bit too dramatic to be covered in only 2 episodes. What do others think? If you watched part1, will you tune in again?

I think at least another 2 hours would be needed. I dont see the point in commissioning programmes of 120 minutes (with ads) as the viewers attentions span seems to deter, unless its a format that has many different sides and topics, such as This Morning.

Dramas, though; I like to sit and watch long dramas in short doses. Its nice for one offs like Margery & Gladys was a good one off 2 hour drama.

I would have liked to have watched more Henry VIII in less time, if you understand that. So I would have like it consectutively for 6 (ish) weeks for one hour, instead of two weeks (where it does seem rushed) in two hours each.

I agree, six episodes lasting one hour was what I was thinking.

It seems that ITV's policy is to make two-hour dramas for Sunday and Monday with them either ending that day or carrying over to next Sunday or the following Monday.
