Help with Telewest

First off, every morning when the set top box is switched on, the picture slowly starts to shift to the left. Whats with this?

The "box" on the wall says Telewest Broadband, set top box says "Telewest Active Digital" remote says "Telewest Digital". Three different names?!?!?

This hasn't really got much to do with television presentation really, has it?

Isn't Telewst Broadband a name they came up with around 3 years ago? Telewest Active Digital was the old name for the Digital TV service. When we first got NTL DF=igital, it was called "Digital Plus", now it's called NTL Home. Soon it will be called Virgin...

Could the shifting possibly be due to your TV resizing the picture if its on an auto format setting?

This is a problem at Telewest HQ. The only solution is to wait till the evening to switch your box on.

I don't even think they call it NTL Home anymore, it tends just to be NTL, or as Channel NTL has been showing an awful lot of lately, NTL Telewest, but as you say this is going to be short term, as Virgin will be on the cards for both operators.

Though my STB and remote have Cable & Wireless logos printed on them, this was installed sometime after Cable & Wireless was almagamated into NTL, which as you say became NTL Digital Plus, NTL Home, NTL (Telewest) and Virgin....

...I could even mention NYNEX if you wished..

lol yeah I had one of those Nynex boxes years back, Got NTL on the Digital box and BB Modem which will also be out of date in 2007.

Whenever I put Channel NTL on, they only seem to be showing Big Game TV....
