I don't see how my real life is realated to a television show but for your infomation, I got called a lot worse than Jim Davidson called Brian Dowling when I was at school. I'm sure we all did, or at least a lot worse than can be shown on ITV1 at 9pm.

I am very sorry to hear about your own situation. But having experienced first-hand the damaging effects of bullying it makes your original comment that there should be more bullying in reality TV all the more astonishing. I too was bullied mercilessly at school, that is why I take a hard-line zero tolerance stance against it on my own forum and why I won't take any cr*p from anyone here.

Was that really bullying though? If you are going to call two people arguing on a reality show 'bullying' then I think the word loses some of its power when used by real victims of bullying who are bullied everyday of their lives without receiving an appearance fee. Thats all it really was, an argument - Jim Davidson thought the term 'shirt lifter' was fine, Brian Dowling didn't..

Maybe in that case your definition of the word "bullying" is as behind the times as Mr Davidson's. When I went to school the popular perception was that bullying only related to physical attacks, and not name-calling. Nowadays, we have quite rightly realised that calling people names messes someone up just as much as any smack in the mouth or boot up the backside (try watching "Walking On The Moon" if you don't believe me).

Presumably, It could be seen coming by Jim Davidson, Brian Dowling and their agents too but they were happy to be part of it. Something that real victims of bully don't get a choice in.

Of course both parties would have known the reputations of the other but there is still a definate line you do not cross. And that applies not just to Jim Davidson but the producers of Hell's Kitchen who are only concerned with getting the best ratings and to hell with the damage they cause in the process.

You say the producers are only concerned with ratings and to hell with the rest. Probably true, but Brian Dowling isn't there out of the goodness of his heart either.

I'm sure alot of Gay poeple would of been more offended by the way Brian Dowling reacted.

Whereabouts is Hell's Kitchen located? It's quite an elaborate set up for just 2 weeks

An ITV spokeswoman said producers had asked him to leave the show. "ITV does not condone comments which could cause offence," she continued.

So does that mean that Simon Cowell will be more reasonable in his manner towards The X-Factor hopefuls then? I should cocoa.

Interesting that nobody complained about Jim Fenner's constant "shirt-lifter", "sh*t stealer" put-downs of his boss Neil Grayling in Bad Girls...

I was thinking the same. I can't find anywhere on the net that has any information on it's location - but the celebs seem to be able to find it!

When Jim left earlier, i'm sure I saw a District Line tube in the background, but I might be mistaken...

I've just read elsewhere. Apparantly it is in Bromley-by-Bow, which is on the District Line!

The scale of the Hell's Kitchen set up, makes the Big Brother house look like a quick bit of DIY

Odd that, how it's acceptable in a dramatic context but not from real people thrown together in the name of entertainment. Fenner was blatantly homophobic and his insults frequent and sustained. It ended with the two men fighting in the governor's office. By contrast, there was only the one utterance coming from Jim Davidson's mouth.
