Anyone just seen ITV Weekend News? It started with full screen headline clips (no graphics) and had no intro. Also, Nick Owen seemed to look up very quickly after the camera did the whole studio shot. In fact, he was looking right down at that bit, but up as soon as it zoomed in on him. Hmmm, I think it is prerecorded as some of you have said.

ITV News pre-recorded? Scandalous! News should be 100% live. I remember a while back at the end of one edition of the Evening News with Nick Owen (This guy seems cursed!), none of the reports would play, so he was forced to read a summary of the news TWICE until the end of the programme. I felt so sorry for him, haiving to work with the incompetant ITN production team Wink

I see what you mean about the 'next from ITN' thing. I wonder why they don't plug the ITN Channel like BBC News do as well?

Why would ITV News want to give publicity to another Channel ? ITN produce the news for ITV, ITN News Channel has no connection with ITV, so it wouldn't be appropriate.

Well yes, but ITV News is made by ITN so it's not that unreasonable. Never mind, it was just a thought.

Many ITN news programmes used to plug other channels news.

For example in the early 90's, at the end of News at Ten, the end caption had Next News from Channel 4 Daily 6:00am.

I don't know why they can't do it now.

ITV no longer promote Channel Four as C4 is no longer a subsidary of the ITV companies, like it used to be.
